part of me really wants to. but i don't want to pay for more schooling and i'm not sure if it's worth it since i don't imagine i'll leave the classroom!

@Mrs. Cowgirl: I know in NY state there are "continuing education" courses teachers can take. And each class they pass equals a pay increase. Do they have that in your state?
Would you ever want to be a principal? Can you do that on a teaching degree? You would make an awesome principal!

@regberadaisy: nope.
my next pay increase would come after a second masters degree! (or 30 grad school credits)

I have to if I want to get licenced. I need one more class. Well see if that happens.

I think my window for more schooling is over. I would take some technical courses for continuing education but that's it. DH has been wanting to get an MBA but I dunno. We'll see if he gets his stuff together !

I can't see myself doing it. I loved school, but I love not having homework/reading/studying to do even more!

No way! Especially not after seeing All the work DH had to do for his masters, while working 50+ hours a week. Too much work for me.

Yup! I want to get a BSN. I am not thinking beyond that at this point however there is a very slight possibility that I might go onto get my CNM!

Maybe. I was in my 2nd year of law school when I got married. Took a leave of absence.,
Haven't decided if I wanna go back and finish. I'd probably have to start over..

Maybe, but not until I figure out what I want to do with my life.

Yes. I tried going back (part time, night school) for interior design but after a year I got a new job, took a break, and realized I didn't want to be an interior designer, I just hated my last job so badly I needed something to get me through it.
I wouldn't mind going back and getting a master's in communications or an MBA. Or something in health care administration. But unfortunately, school's not free, so I don't see it happening. I racked up $10,000 in student loans just going back for 11 months -- on top of my undergrad loans -- so I'm full up on educational debt.

I never say never, but it's pretty darn unlikely. I have my masters in engineering and zero desire to go any further with it.

I haven't finished my degree yet. It got interrupted by my LO and any plans to return will have to wait until this -next- LO is born. I'm hoping that when Henry's two and this next LO turns one I can think about taking a class over the summer and maybe a class during the fall semester.
I miss school. Mostly the interaction but I genuinely enjoyed learning about different subjects. I can't wait to get back to a little bit of that normalcy.

No way. I graduated from law school less than a year ago and I don't miss school at all!

Sometimes I think about doing the first year of law school.

Thinking about finishing my accounting degree. I have a business degree but don't do anything with it and I've been unsuccessful in finding a new job bc my degree is too broad.

Done!!! I have a Masters in Nursing and have no need or want to go for a doctorate.
grapefruit / 4554 posts
I would, I love learning. That's probably why I have 3 different degrees.

i will at some point. DH needs to go back first though, that way he can be licensed in the field he wants to be in.

No way. I hated every second of my engineering degree and will never go back!!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
I went back for my masters in engineering and there's a slim chance I go back for my PhD eventually. It's so hard not to, when my company pays for it. But I'm ready to be done with the whole full work time+part time grad school drudgery.

I did go back; I'm currently working on my Master's in Library Science. Getting pregnant is going to slow it down, but I have a scholarship from work that is good motivation to get it done. I'll be 1/3 finished after spring... and it'll probably take me 3 more years to finish. It's already starting to get old lol. After this I'm pretty sure I'm done, at least for the next decade!

Sometimes I think about going back for a second master's or perhaps a doctorate. It would be somewhat easier for me since I work at a post-secondary institution (and they would pay my way). But now (29 weeks pregnant) definitely isn't the right time to start!

Sure. I have my MA in English lit, but with the way work is going, some business classes would be a good thing, specifically in marketing and business development. Some more English classes would also be fun. Any classses that I take would be online though.

Maybe. I have an MA in Public History. I wouldn't mind getting an MLS, though they're a dime a dozen in Chicago. In the near future, I want to pursue getting my Certified Records Manager status.

I'm finishing up my Maste3r's right now, but I might consider another degree in the future. I really love school... If only it weren't so expensive!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
Neverrrr!!!! Well, honestly I am considering a career change in the future, which would require at least a few courses. But the only reason I'd consider it is because they'd be free at the university Wagon Sr. works at since I'm his spouse, and that's part of the benefits. So I'd only consider it if I could do it part time, for free, and while I'm working full time.

@Honeybee: Right before our baby was born, I paid off my student loans. I had under $2,000 to go. I was so thrilled about it! Not sure I want to incur massive debt again!
honeydew / 7303 posts
I might eventually. I'd either get a masters or specialize. I want to pay off some loans first!
pomegranate / 3521 posts
I have already done about 8 years of post sec education. If I was paid a very nice sum of money to go back and take some classes I would enjoy - sure, why not. I wouldn't be willing to give up the career I have now though to do so... so maybe part time
