LO is in half day preschool, and has school today in about an hour. All morning she has been struggling to go poop. I'm thinking of keeping her home where she can be comfortable, what would you do? She's happy otherwise...

I'd send her, but let them be aware of it so maybe they can keep an eye on it or feed her something to help move it along. Like extra fiber during snack/meal times or prune juice, etc.

It is preschool so I would keep her home to monitor. If it were kinder I would send her. If it meant DH or I staying home from work, I would send her. So overall doesn't sound serious but would still baby LO if given the chance with no other consequence.

@Bao: this happened to my DD when she was 4 - she hadnt gone in a few days so I decided to give her a suppository and she finally went- she was late and I was late for work but it broke my heart to see her crying on the potty - I just couldn't send her that way

I have kept my son home for that, twice in fact this year.
