@matador84: who knew, right?? I knew nothing about all of these things before giving birth (joined HB less than 3 weeks before) - no one spoke of this in birth class, wth?

I think 12 hour medicated, as strange as that sounds. As soon as I had my epidural, I felt great! I really enjoyed (is that sick?!) the anticipation of waiting for LO and once I felt comfortable, I was happy.
Also, I did 3+ hours of non-medicated and I was not a happy camper

I had two unmedicated births. The first was 9.5 hrs, and the second was 5 hrs, so a 3 hr unmedicated birth sounds pretty heavenly!

I can't decide but I think I lean toward the three hour one. Less exhausting. I labored for much longer than 12 hours unmedicated then had 7 medicated. The medicated ones sure went faster so I can't decide!
And I'm another who did NOT want to feel lo coming out AT ALL.

Three hours please! We're hoping for unmedicated (gas and air if necessary) so having it that short would be unexpectedly amazing!

Can I just say (add) that neither of those options sound amazing or heavenly to me? Maybe my forgetting hormones are broken or maybe it just hasn't been long enough but I don't look forward to labor again!!! Haha. LO is definitely worth it but still not something I necessarily enjoy!!

I did 12 hours unmedicated, so 3 unmedicated sounds amayzing. but, i would happily take my last labour again anyway

I did 7 hours from water breaking (no contractions) to baby without meds so I would say the 3 hour one.

3 hours unmedicated! I had an 11 hour induction with back labor and no pain relief so I could survive 3 hours!
