This is the first year I've had to work July 5 and I do believe it should be banned....

I just came down with an AWFUL cold, so I'd rather be in bed right now! I really wanted to call in - but hate 'wasting' my PTO, and didn't want people to think I was just skipping, lol.
We used to get July 5th as a paid holiday but had it taken away a couple years ago.

I agree! We had a full schedule today (outpatient imaging center) and our patients are dropping off like flies when they realize that they donโt want to come get a medical test the day after the 4th. So now Iโm here with nothing to do counting the hours until 5 pm.....
Iโd rather be in bed snuggling with my girls.

@Ajsmommy: I have a doctor appointment, then teach a class (summer school), and THEN have a client tonight at 7:30. While I enjoy my family, jobs, and where I live; HANDS DOWN, I would much rather be back on Oahu taking an hour or two for myself on the beach

I'm in accounting so we're dealing with quarter end close. I had to work yesterday and I'm here today.....I'd rather be just about anywhere! I did order some pizza for my team to help soften the pain but still........

I'm not happy to be at work - I'd rather be a lot of places - but hot damn I did enjoy not wrestling any kids into clothes and getting them packed up and in the car. Having them home saved me an hour and I used that time to sleep in. I haven't felt this rested at work in a long time. Apologies to those that had their normal drop offs.
guess its better than nothing...
