Nope, I wouldn't. We skipped July 4th when C was 3 months for similar reasons, we didn't want her out past her bedtime and we thought the fireworks would scare her.
We lived and died by her schedule when she was little though, she didn't respond well to change as a baby and a later bedtime meant hysterics and an early wakeup, followed by a cranky butt all the next day. We're just now at the point where keeping her up later doesn't cause a massive meltdown and she does okay.

Like @loveisstrange, we were super consistent about LO's schedule from very early on and it served us well. He did miss naps or bedtime occasionally but it had to be kind of a big deal. He actually did ok when things would change a bit but he did great on his schedule and we figured, why mess with success? I think you should just tell DH to go without you two and have fun.

I would go. I tend to be pretty laid back because I have learned that in the end, it always works out. Whenever I'm apprehensive about deviating from her schedule, she always surprises me with her ability to adapt and ends up being a dream toddler (and it was even easier when she was a baby)! So, I say have fun with your friends and go for it. You never know until you try. E will do great!

We took our LO to the fireworks when she was 7 months old. Her normal bedtime is 5 pm, but the fireworks didn't start until 9 pm. We put baby noise cancellation headphones on her and she slept through the whole fireworks show!

Update!!
The Little Bean napped really, really well today so we took her to the firework display. The husband wore her and she fell asleep in the carrier on the way there - it was half an hour before bedtime. She woke up just before the fireworks started and had plenty of smiles for our friends (much to my surprise!) and then she loved the fireworks!! She was fascinated!!!
We got home and she went to sleep pretty easily (even without her swaddle!!). Bless - I'm looking at her now on the monitor, arms spread wide, fast asleep.... aaaaw!!!

@Cherrybee: That's great! I am going to live vicariously through you and your little family. No bonfire night for us here. It was always one of my favourite "celebration" things growing up. I managed to save a pack of sparklers from July, and DH will humour me, but it's pretty pathetic

Our LO was pretty high maintenance when she was little (still is actually) so we never messed with bedtime. I was just so afraid to screw with bedtime once we got it down. Do you have family or trusted friends that can watch her and put her to bed? That way it can be a night out for you?
