Why not!

My local theatre has a stroller and stars day where they play an adult movie in the day and babies are welcome! I'm hoping to go next week!

I wouldn't do it only because movies are LOUD and I wouldn't want to subject my baby to that!

I think it sounds fine in theory, but in reality, how much of the movie can you realistically watch with a semi-mobile baby on your lap? I have to really pay attention to movies, lol, otherwise, I just miss key elements of the plot!

@Anagram: hahahah omg, I need to find that movie theatre chain! It sounds amazing! I nearly took a woman's head off for talking on her phone *on speakerphone* during the previews. GAHHHH.

Go but don't have expectations. Keep in mind you may well have to leave with the baby, at least for awhile, and come back.

I wouldn't just because of how loud the noise is in a movie theater.

@Anagram: oo yeah I've heard of those. The nearest one to us is a couple hours away, boo!

@Anagram: this has nothing to do with your baby but my husband and I went to see Avatar when it was in the theater. A woman and her daughter (maybe 6?) sat behind us. The woman explained the movie the ENTIRE TIME to her child. Then her child got bored and started running up and down the stairs. OMG our heads almost exploded. I feel like I go to the movies to get away from life. Not to deal with someone else's kids. Ugh. I think I would be on edge the entire time if someone came in with their baby just knowing the baby was going to cry and the parent wasn't going to care and it would totally ruin my experience.

....(but that's just me)... hahaha.

I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't enjoy myself or really get a chance to pay attention to the movie while attending to a squirmy LO, it would just be a waste of money. Plus, I don't really think it matters how many other people are in the theater. Annoying two people who paid for an adult form of entertainment isn't a whole lot better than annoying 20 people.

@Anagram: Ah I voted you should go, but if it's your own moral code... then I'm thinking you shouldn't go, sorry to change my vote!

I'd go knowing that if the baby was disruptive I'd leave.

There are a lot of theaters that do movies for moms during tdg week. If they don't, maybe you could convince them to start one up?

Nope! Glad it looks like you're re-considering it. An almost empty theater is not the same thing as an empty theater, and if I was in there with you guys I would be pretty pissed at having the movie I paid to see interrupted by baby stuff. A kid's movie is one thing, but not an adult one.

And after typing this I realized it's basically the same thing @night cheese: said. So yeah, I second that!

if you think it won't disrupt anyone, then i say go. I took LO to movies almost every week for a year, but it was designed for moms and babies to go, so crying babies were acceptable. The other good thing was that they lowered the volume and had a change table available. Despite how accessible it was, i had to remove my expectations that i actually got to watch the ENTIRE movie peacefully, simply because LO needs attending to and it takes my attention away from the move. But i was okay with that, because i mostly went for the sake of an outing and i made some friends who joined me many times with their LOs.

As well, i took LO maybe 2 or 3 times to a movie on saturday matinee with LO (not adapted for moms and babies). Then I had to accept that i would actually miss parts of the movie because noisy babies were not acceptable, so we sat at the edge of a row near the exit so i could step out with LO quickly if need be. Having LO in a carrier and a pacifier on hand made things easier too LO also surprised me by taking awesome stroller naps on many of our movie outings.
