I really want to get DH tickets to an NFL game for our anniversary. It is 2 hours away and DS will be almost 13 months at the time. Would you bring your LO? I've never been to a game so I'm not sure what to expect and not sure if we could find a sitter!

I wouldn't, but that's because I don't want to be paying attention to her, I'd prefer to watch (read: yell/scream) at the game. I also find it awful loud in the stadiums and wouldn't want to her her ears... maybe I'm being over sensitive about the ears though.

I wouldn't, but only because he'd want to be climbing on everything and running around. If he was a more stationary toddler I might consider it, but with those noise-blocking headphone things.

I wouldn't...because your LO probably won't sit still and watch the game. I recently took my son to a high school football game and he just wanted to climb up and down the bleachers and run out on the field....so I didn't get to really watch the game. Also NFL games are super crowded.

I wouldn't. By 13mo DD was walking. We would have spent the entire game walking up and down the bleachers. Sports stadium seating also tends to be pretty cramped, so it wouldn't be very comfortable. I'd try to find a sitter for sure.

I also would not. It's really a fun experience but for little ones, it can be a bit much.. it's crowded, loud and like @mrsmate mentioned, the stadium seating can get difficult!

You can only take a clear bag into an NFL stadium...so uh, the fact that you'd have to put your diaper bag stuff into plastic ziploc baggies?....what a hassle.

Nope. Babies that age are too squirmy and active. I'd rather have fun at the game with DH. Plus I think it's too loud/rowdy for a baby IMO.

Nah. DD is a wiggle worm and I wouldn't enjoy it. Plus, our stadium is looouud!

@blackbird: I've been to several different NFL stadiums and always brought a non clear purse. They just look inside it.

LO isn't 1 yet, but I wouldn't. Our home team charges full price for any kids, regardless of age. I could never spend that amount when he wouldn't be paying attention to the game. Also, our fans are really loud and rowdy... I'd worry about him getting overwhelmed! Guess that's hard to judge until I know what he's like at a year, however.

Personally no way- not for the noise necessarily but because I can't imagine getting a 13 month old to sit for that long. 3 hours is a long time, especially when they are starting to walk & want to explore everything. You really wouldn't get to just enjoy the game and hang out. If you really want to get your husband the tix & you don't have a sitter, I'd give them to him so he can invite a friend.

One of my good friends is a college baseball coach. His wife has brought their 4 month old girl to baseball games since shortly after the baby was born. They just brought her to horse races this weekend and the baby was the least problematic person of the group. I suppose you'd just have to worry about the safety of the baby and whether or not the baby would ruin your experience.

@MamaJ: We have taken LO to an NHL game but I think we will wait until he is much older before we go to an NFL game. They get pretty rowdy and I would be worried about something happening to DS.

@mrsmate: I hear you on that one. My sister's girl is almost 2 y.o. and I can't imagine very many public places that I would happily take her to aside from a very wide open space.

I'm taking DD to one in December when she's exactly that age. My cousin is an NFL cheerleader, and DD has a little uniform she's wearing! It'll be a big, multi-generational family outing, so hopefully we can take turns walking around with her and letting her check things out in addition to the game etc.

NFL games are no place for children under 6, IMO. They're rowdier than a baseball game, the crowds are drunker, the use of foul language is more prevalent and it's just not an appropriate place for a little tiny child. Also, I live in Seattle, and our stadium is LOUD- no WAY would I take a kid there, my own ears ring after being in there. And unlike a MLB game, there are zero kids activities and there's nothing to look at or do than sit there and watch the game. Pretty boring for a kiddo who has no interest in watching the game.
You have SO much time to find a sitter. If your MIL can't do it, call a sitter service or something. Totally worth it to have some adult time!! -
No way would I take a baby/toddler to a NFL game! It's way too loud and rowdy...and even in Seattle I feel like it's way too cold.
