Id also rather do a car trip. That would be fun!

I'm a wuss, so I wouldn't do it. But, of I had to I would definitely do it by car instead of plane. Have you ever read the omg mom blog? She travels quite a bit alone with her daughter by plane and has some great tips.

Like everyone else said, a car trip should be pretty do-able, but there are too many logistics with flying that I would rather not deal with by myself.

I think I would too at 9 months. Bb M will be around 7 months for my mom's birthday, I'm thinking of flying back for her birthday. It'll be a hr flight.

I did a 1.5 hour flight alone with my son when he was 8 months, it was the first and last time he was a lap child. It was doable only because I had arranged for a car seat, stroller and crib at my destination and I had tons of family to help.

I flew alone with my then 5 month old from CA to NY. The flight wasn't bad at all. But I was coming home from a vacation, not alone with her an entire vacation.

Logistically though, I think flying alone with a baby that age isn't as bad as some think. I'd prefer to fly alone than drive alone because with driving, I'd prefer if LO would have company in the backseat... that's just me. I guess a 1-2 hour drive wouldn't be bad though if you could time it so that she sleeps in the car. I'm just not a fan of keeping up with driving and entertaining the baby by myself all at the same time if I could avoid it.

I did it at 9 months on my own, it wasn't too bad. BUT, we'd traveled with her before so I knew the routine it was just that this time I was alone. We flew from CA to MI with one layover each way. The only bonus is that we didn't have to change planes during the layover.
We visited friends so they had car seat etc. for us so it was bare minimum traveling.
