I think it should be fine - I'd use it. Is it audio only? We got an audio one and ended up not using it as much as I thought. We're all on the same level of the house, so if he cries we can hear him without the monitor - most nights we don't turn it on anymore.

But when he was younger (and i stopped holding him while he slept all the time!) I had it on all the time, just to hear him breathing

I don't think it's a problem...but we ended up returning the audio one we'd bought and getting a video one. Sometimes they make little noises in their sleep that the monitor picks up, and I don't get out of bed but I just watch the monitor to see if she's really going to wake up, or needs a pacifier, or just made a random noise. Lo makes noises that sound like a cry but it'll just be one or two, and then she'll be quietly asleep again.

I'd use it. Worse thing that happens is it breaks and you have to buy a new one.

I'd use it until it breaks.
