Being a pro blogger is tough work! The hardest part is the neverending nature of it... you're never done blogging, since there's always another day. Also, no vacations.
On the plus side, you get to work from home in your pajamas. So the job is pretty family friendly... well at least, it's super flexible. You probably have to work more hours than a regular job though.

I think I'd love it. It would be such a switch from what I'm doing now. I'd have to find something to blog about though!
FWIW, I follow blogs where people go on vacation. Seems like they just have all the blog posts ready to go and they either publish them on the road, or there's some sort of "autopublish" feature.

Definitely. It is an ambition of mine to figure out a real focus and find a way to make it a career. But I wonder if I'm just not that creative or savvy enough on the net. I'm not much of a photographer or DIY-er. I just like to write.

Definitely not. I'm one of those people who constantly worries about what other people think of me. I think it would be very hard for me to put my entire life out there for everyone else to view/judge. I know some people can shrug off the critics or just not car what others think, but I'm not that way at all.
Also, the weeks when my current job is all creative (graphic design) when I'm working on a big project, I come home feeling absolutely exhausted. I can't imagine the pressure that comes along with generating new (and exciting, entertaining) content every single day.

Nope. Too much work, time, effort. The flexibility is tempting, but I think it's a really hard endeavor!

I doubt it. First because, despite my best efforts, I can't keep up with my own personal blog and second, because I like security. If you're relying on a blog for your income, you're also relying on keeping advertisers happy and maintaining a certain level of readership...and you have to worry about health insurance and all kinds of risk that comes with running your own business.

I'm a work from home writer/editor, so it wouldn't be much different from what I already do. I find work to be SO much more gratifying when all your efforts have the potential to improve your success, and you're not locked into a paycheck.
While blogs are fun and I've enjoyed writing them before, I do like having a finished product eventually! The blog would have to be something that revolves around a bigger goal, like child rearing or home improvement, for me to stay interested.

I'd love to do it, if whatever income from the blog could just be extra and we didn't require it to live off of. Trying to make a living off of it would probably tarnish my blog and make it less authentic, which I wouldn't want.

Yes, yes, yes. I love to write (it's what I already do for a living), and I would love to work from home. I do love my job and my office/company, though. It's kind of a "pipe dream" thing. I wouldn't even know where to start.

I think the flexibility and ability to take ownership of the site content is awesome.
However, writer's block for me is terrible. In grad school (before LO) when I had grants or my thesis to write I'd end up going out to party a lot more than normal to get my mind away from writing. My thoughts are a jumble so it takes a lot of effort and editing to untangle them to write a story others can also follow. If I somehow found my 'voice' and writing came more easily than it does now then maybe it would be a great job.

I would love it. I love writing. I have a hard time with consistency though. I struggle to update often. Like @Grace said, I have been on vacation for three weeks and haven't updated my blog once! But I think those types of things take much practice.

I think I'd love it. I enjoy writing, and I find it to be very therapeutic for me to get my thoughts out, even if no one is reading. I think I'd struggle sometimes with what to blog about to keep people interested, but I'd love to be able to stay home and make my own hours.

No, because I wouldn't want to put myself out there and I don't like the idea of never being able to go on vacation. I have the option of working from home with my current job and when I"m gone for a week (or two) I just put on my out of office contacts and forget about it!

Maybe, when my kids go to school. I might have to take some writing classes. My grammar is a little rusty. I've been told I should write a book too but I just don't even know where to start. For now I will just stick to my personal blog.

I love to write, and I love the Internet/social media, so totally! But I would not want to blog about myself or my family. Bloggers, particularly successful ones, face so much scrutiny and you are so exposed to anyone and everyone. I would struggle with that. Also, so many blogs are not profitable, despite the best intentions and hard work. I like knowing I will get a paycheck if I do my job

I would love to say yes, but my last blog was back in the LJ days, and I think I wrote in it like 3 times. I tend to lose interest in those sorts of things way too quickly!
