I'm hugely preggo and dreading wrapping gifts but today is the day I'm going to start, since I'm off and the family is at school/work. Other than gift bags, what easy tips or quick cheats do you have that make wrapping easy.

Wrap everything in the amazon box. Toys are so hard to wrap (weird shapes, etc) so it might use more paper but I think it is way easier to wrap.

@Smurfette: Definitely agree to that - wrap everything in a box so it's a nice normal easy shape to wrap! And forgo ribbons - just throw a bow on it and call it good.

Take stuff out of the box, assemble and then put in the delivery boxes if they came in something large enough to accomdate. Or I just leave as is and put a big bow on it.
For large stuff, I will usually cut end papers and tape those on and then wrap the remaining 4 sides of the box in one roll, rather than trying to use one piece of paper.

I try to either clear off my table or counter and wrap up high. I am over trying to wrap on the floor.

@T.H.O.U.: haha, yeah, definitely don't wrap on the floor!
I usually clear off the dining table and stack my upwrapped gifts on one side, sit in the middle, wrap, and then place the wrapped gifts on the other side. And put a tag on it as you go so you don't lose track of who gets which gift.

Get a storage bin and keep in it all your bows, ribbons, tags, a few rolls of tape, scissors, and a pen - then you don't have to stop and go looking for things in the middle of the process.

@Smurfette: I feel way too old to be bent over that long!

@T.H.O.U.: I think the table is harder. I can't sit at the table and comfortably wrap, so I have to stand up. I do it on the floor, and then just grab a gift off the pile on the floor.

@Smurfette: I'm also a floor wrapper. Glass of wine (or cocoa), a terrible Hallmark Christmas movie and I'm good.

If I was really pregnant I might drag all my stuff down to the mall and pay whatever teenage group is set up at the station to do wrapping for a fundraiser this year.
Otherwise, I do two or three papers to choose from, a stack of bows, sticker name tags, and put a movie on. Also make sure I can reach everything, including a pen. The fewer times I have to move the more likely I am to finish.

We have these things and I think they really help with the actual wrapping - http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Pop-Up-Handband-Dispenser-Inches/dp/B000XSPEPA.

Fyi I just went to dollar tree to get some supplies and they have a ton of nice preprinted boxes that I will throw a ribbon on and call it wrapped!!' Super excited about that!

My only tip for making it easier is to wrap a couple gifts every evening so you aren't having to do them all at once.
I also love these gift tags, but that may actually create more work.

Even though I'm 28 wks pregnant I'm still more comfy wrapping on the floor. But I really hate wrapping!

I make DH do it but he's a better wrapper than I am to begin with!

It may be too late for you, but I try to do at least some of my shopping at places that offer free gift wrapping. There's a great children's book/toy store near me where I can shop for all the cousins, go to lunch, and return in an hour to a big bag of wrapped presents.
