Our wreath bows are on the bottom and my MIL does not approve. She says the ribbon has to be on the top! Oh well...I see a mix in our neighborhood!

I think both of the pics you posted look good, because of the ribbon length. Long ribbon, goes on the top. No long ribbon, it can go on the bottom. I think it would look weird with a long ribbon hanging below the wreath... if that makes sense, haha.

I think it depends on whether the wreath or the bow is the focus. If it's really pretty ribbon & you want those long tails & are keeping the wreath simple, that's one look, or when the wreath itself is more decorative, then I think the bow looks better on the bottom. I actually like a decoration off to the side of the wreath, that would really throw her off

I like them on the bottom. I don't think there's a "right" way, though, and it would never occur to me to tell someone else their bow was in the wrong place! So strange, haha.

I don't think there's a wrong way, but ours is on the bottom because we have a decorative door knocker that would get covered up otherwise!

Ours is on the top, I tied it there because I was using the ribbon to hang it from two screws in the top of the door. But if it wasn't needed for practical reasons I'd just put it wherever!

I google imaged 'Christmas Wreaths' and the majority are on the top. I prefer them on the bottom though

I don't think there is a right and wrong way. I like them off to one side at the bottom actually.

DH put ours on the top this year and I moved it to the bottom right. It's such a pretty wreath with little juniper berries and a nice mix of greens, I hated seeing it totally obscured by the bow.
