After spending way too much time last night putting the soothie back in my sons mouth I was thinking about getting him a wubbanub and wondered if you think it helps to stay in their mouth. My older 2 never took a pacifier so this new territory to me and after last night it is one of the reasons why I'm not in love with pacifiers but I think he enjoys having something to suck on for comfort and this mama wants all the sleep she can get. He is almost 5 weeks old.

No. I think it helps keep it close instead of rolling away but doesn't help keep it in.

The wubanub is pretty light and doesn't stay in. There's someone on etsy that sews pacifiers onto beanie babies. I've purchased a few from her. They work great because they are weighted.

We tried one and it didn't work. The Mam pacifiers stayed in DD's mouth really well when all the others popped out.

I don't know that it stays in any better, but I think they can get the paci back in on their own better because there's a bigger area to grab.

If baby is on his back and spits the paci out, yes, it stays on his chest and can mouth it back in. I do also have a lovey from Dr. Brown and it is a little heavier and bigger, plus you can put any paci on it except a soothie.

I think it helped us. If baby is still swaddled, it helped us to tuck the animal portion into the swaddle and then if the paci popped out, at least it was within a small distance for baby to be able to find it again.

for us i think it was more about mouth shape and nipple preference. She figured out pretty early on that she liked the nuk pacis best and was able to keep them in her mouth

My son is 11 weeks and we love the Wubbanub. I think it does help stay in his mouth because it keeps it on his chest so then he can sometimes suck it back in. Be aware that they're different sizes - we had the giraffe, lost it, and bought a sheep because the store didn't have a giraffe but it was much smaller/lighter, didn't stay on his chest, and we had to make an emergency giraffe run.

@erinbaderin: Yes, good point. D had the original giraffe, and we got A the pink giraffe. The pink giraffe is much lighter than the original one!

I also think it helped keep it on his chest. We have the elephant. DS is 13 months and still completely obsessed with his 2 wubbanubs. One of the soothies fell off and he still loves it, he even hugs it
