I wasn't really sure where to put this or how to ask! Along the lines of baby books - if you do photo baby books yearly ( like Shutterfly, Snapfish) - how do you start and end them?
DD1 was born in September. Would you do September-September, or "2013," "2014" etc?
DD2 was born in January so that's easy enough. Haha.
I'm going to catch up (I haven't done any yet) but obviously worrying about silly things before starting!

Well I haven't actually completed the task, but I did a monthly photo book for 1st year, and think I will switch to calendar year photo books ongoing, so may end until with overlapping books for 2014 and 2015.

We just do a yearly family book because I figured it'd be too hard to keep up with two books a year! So I do calendar year. If I were you I'd start with 2015, get that one out of the way and then work backwards to catch up on past years. I tried starting earlier and couldn't get any momentum because finding organizing the photos was so hard!

I'd lump O's first few months into a 2013-2014 book, then do calendar year from there on out. Although, easy for me to say...since E was born on January 2. Haha! She made that one easy for me.
And PS, since I'm here...HOW ARE OUR BABIES ALMOST ONE?!

We only have one LO but we just do family books and will do the same once we have another.

I just did DS's one year photo book. He was born on Nov. 25, 20132 but I did Nov. (including prenatal shots) 2012 through Dec. 31, 2013. So technically more than one year.

I've been doing from birth, but I'm doing something like "Xander's First Year," "Xander's Second Year," "Logan's First Year," etc. Though now I'm wondering if that was the best choice because most of my pictures now have both of them and I don't want a book of Xander's third year and Logan's second year that are essentially identical...

I started doing regular Chatbooks a few months ago. I load up the book with pictures in chronicle order. When the book fills up, it prints and gets shipped ($8). Every few weeks I just add the most recent pics from my phone.

I'm due in February, but I have done yearly photo books for the last several years (and I'm still working my way backwards).
I'll continue to do my "yearbooks" but probably also do a smaller version that focuses just on the one kid - and that would be based on his/her birthday. Baby's first year, baby's second year, etc. We will see if I can stay on top of it.

I was just thinking about this too! I think I'm planning to do calendar year, plus a first year one. So I guess for C, with a July bday, I'll do her first year one mostly July- dec, then fill in the monthly type ones. But 2014 will start with January and have some overlap?
This baby will be born in December so should be easy enough to combine them for 2016! Second baby is getting newborn photos so at least that will be special for her!

I started yearly photo books a few years ago and had to make a similar decision with whether to start from our wedding (October) or go year to year. I ended up starting with the current year's book and going backwards and having on per calendar year. I made us a Wedding album and then started with 2012- the full calendar year after we were married. Now that we added LO, I won't make a specific "LO's first year" album, but 2015 will just be 90% him, hah. I say, if you're going to do just one, do your LO's first year, but if you want to start having them each year moving forward, I would go Jan-Dec. I really love the quality of My Publisher, FWIW.

For each LO's first year, I did 0-12 months. I haven't really done any yearly family albums, but I did a project 52 this year (January to December) so I will make an album from that.

For DD so far I've done chatbook subscription roughly 1 book every month. I take so many pictures!! Going forward tho I need to re-think my strategy, now that she's 1...

Like others have mentioned, I just do one family yearbook and an incorporate DS's monthly pictures in chronological order. Therefore, our family yearbook tends to be pretty heavy, but I love it!

For LO's first year I did her first year of life. So, October-October, but the books were given as Christmas gifts.

I do from birth. LO is a Sept baby and they are done in time to use as Christmas presents for the grandparents.
