Was you cycle regular while breastfeeding? I am having a tough time finding info on what to expect. Mine finally returned after nine months, was totally different (so heavy it FREAKED me out and I had to call the doctor for reassurance) and now is late. Is the irregularity normal and if so when did it become more regular? After weaning?

Mine returned at 4 months (I think) once it returned it was regular for me. It was heavier, but came every 27 days, so it got longer compared to before I was pregnant.

I've had six ... The first couple months were regular but the last few have been sporadic ... Which is frustrating! I've just chalked it up to hormones ...

Mine returned at 4.5 months PP but it took 3-4 cycles before they "regulated" and even still at 21 months pp, I have cycle variations of 3-8 days!

Mine came back 7m pp. was a little weird for a while with maybe 7 day flex in length, definitely did even out more after weaning completely (18mo)

Mine returned at 14.5 months pp and first cycle was 30 days but my next was 60! The following two cycles were 45 and 30-something days before we got our BFP.
As far as I know it's pretty normal for cycles to fluctuate based on frequency of nursing and sleep patterns

So irregular, it's rediculous. First was super-heavy, like yours, then a normal cycle with a super light one. Then 45 days, then 25 and just now a 60 cycle one. So, not regular at all.

With A it returned around 4.5 months and was irregular. It was 47 days, 30 days, 21 days etc etc....I only had about 6 cycles before I was pregnant again though. I'm not 5.5 months PP and dreading my first PP period.

My first pp period was so heavy and painful that I called my doctor to make sure I wasn't hemorrhaging. The one after that was about 45 days, and since then they have been every 35 days like clockwork.

@tillma: I think your first few cycles pp are just crazy and will take time to regulate. Also many people's period is different after baby!

I got it back at 9 months. It was weird for the first month, then it regulated. I'd say it's slightly heavier, but a day shorter than pre-baby periods. I'm 18 months pp and still breastfeeding.
