We have a Motorola monitor but I'm not super impressed with it, the battery life was never great and the battery just died. Before I replace it, are there any other double video monitors I should look at (baby #2 is on the way). If I stick with the Motorola monitor I'll have to buy a second camera anyway, so just looking for opinions!

We've been looking at the Summer Infant side-by-side one, but no experience yet. Reviews seem to be mixed. We've been very happy with our regular Summer Infant monitor - no problems at all - but it's too old to find a second camera for

We just upgraded to the newest motorola double video (MBP43 I think?) and we love it but I haven't used the second camera yet (LO2 isn't due until August). My one complaint is that sometime I get the low reception alarm in my living room which isn't far from DS bedroom at all however the monitor does work outside, so I think there's a funny spot in my living room that has something that blocks the signal.

We have an Infant Optics (http://www.amazon.com/Infant-Optics-Digital-Monitor-Vision/dp/B0052QYLUM) which we are happy with. It has a sleep mode, so it turns itself off it there is no noise or movement on the camera. You can have up to 4 cameras. We currently only have 1, but will add a second when we have another LO.

@QBbride: That is a fantastic price! I think we paid .. $300? $350 even? It was around christmas time when it was first released. Thank goodness we had over $200 in gift cards. It felt expensive but to me I'll be using a monitor for a while yet (LO1 is 20 months and LO2 is due in August) so I wanted something that wasn't crappy like our first one.

The battery seems good for me! On the weekends we use it on battery for roughly 2-2.5 hours while DS naps and then from the time he goes to bed until we do, which is another 3 or so? And the battery usually lasts that long depending on how many times I've turned the screen on (it auto shuts off but still monitors audio unless you press the button to activate the screen again). If DS has been especially active or fussy and I'm spending a lot of time watching the screen then I might get the low battery message a bit before we go to bed but in my books, it's still pretty good battery life. I plug it in over night every night.

@QBbride: @getjazzy: our monitor is on the verge of dieing since DH let LO play with it so much. Lesson learned too late.
He's only 16 months and we are a year from trying. That price is amazing! I think when the time comes I'll be getting that one.

We have an extra camera for our motorola monitor from our travels. We'll be setting that up in the nursery for LO#2. (We have had the monitor replaced two times.)

@getjazzy: how is the video quality with your MBP43? The reason I ask is because I just bought one off Amazon but the video quality is SO much worse (both night vision and daytime) than our old Motorola monitor (MBP36). I'm going to call Motorola tomorrow but just wondered what your experience was.
