LO is 2.5 and a 2T and I need to get a cold weather (32-45 degrees, maybe a bit colder) non-puffy jacket for her to move her between house, car, daycare and back, maybe a little bit of time outside when it's not completely freezing. Last year we bought her a thick Champion fleece at Target that we liked and used all winter, but this year the ones Target has feel flimsy. My husband is advocating for a North Face fleece but I'm loath to spend $80 on a one season jacket. Do you have any other favorites you'd recommend for this kind of weather?

I love the Columbia fleece jackets. They are warm, but not too thick.

Oh, that's a shame about the Target ones! We had that one last year and it was great. The Columbia fleeces are really good (I'd say on par with North Face, without the name) and are much cheaper. Most kids I know wear Columbia fleeces around here.

I've seen lots of North Face kid jackets at Nordstrom Rack. I'd check there first!

I was coming here to say I like our Columbia one but I guess that's been said.
But really it's nice and warm by not too bulky. C wears either 2t or 3t and the 3t should ft her all winter. We got hers at Marshall's for about $20, and I've also seen them on 6pm. Haven't washed it yet but glad to hear it washes well.

Sadly, we got the Target one this year because we loved last years. It's got little balls all over it from the car seat which is super disappointing as it's been worn for maybe three weeks?

Columbia ones are good. For North Face, I like the ones that are the softer (almost fuzzy/hairy looking...looked it up: Oso Hoodie) because they don't get pilled and they have elastic at the cuffs so you can buy extra big. I figure the $80 will get us at least 1.5-2 years of LO1 wearing it and then that long for LO2 too without it looking super-worn.

This is more of a fleece lined sweatshirt, but I have found it was way warmer than our North Face fleece we got her last year! it's thicker than you would think, but fits great in the car seat. Works great for our weather right now (50s)

Another vote for Columbia! I bought one off of Amazon for less than $10 one year, and it has held up really well after two kids.
