DH and I always talk about this too! We would also choose average... we just want them to be a normal, happy, well-adjusted, socially accepted member of society who has a good understanding of humanity. High E.Q. qualities of compassion, understanding, has good self-awareness as well as considerate of those around them, etc. are more important to us than being super intelligent or athletic.

I'm the only one that picked athletically gifted!!

I had to give this a lot of thought...but I would hope that if my LO had enough athletic talent to be a professional athlete he'd have the dedication and work ethic to match. I think those two qualities would still get him far in life even if he wasn't the smartest cookie in the jar.

Of those options; definitely average. I hope LO is brilliant but I wouldn't want her to be super socially backwards; and I definitely wouldn't want an athlete who wasn't smart as they would probably blow through their millions buying stupid stuff and end of bankrupt like so many athletes. Then they would have to move back home with me! Haha
