Zarbees is typically honey based which is not recommended before 12 m. We use it regularly for our kid since he is over a year old.

@regberadaisy: We've been using the agave based cough syrup for a while, since he's pretty much sick all the time at this point (yay first year of school!). It helps a little, and it tastes delicious. I think it works about as well as honey for cough, which is just a little. But it does seems to help with the scratchiness of his throat from coughing so much.

We use Zarbees, it might help a tiny bit with soothing so he can fall asleep but he'll still wake up very early coughing.

@regberadaisy: My pediatrician actually recommended Zarbees for my 11 month old (the baby agave based one). I also had my sister, a pharmacist, check out the ingredients and she said it was fine. Lots of sugar in it, but fine. I thought it helped thin out the mucus more than anything , which was helpful!

We gave it before nap times and bedtimes to soothe coughing. Hope it helps your LO, the coughing is the worst.

@regberadaisy: can you elevate her mattress? I have been dealing with an awful cough myself and laying flat makes it 100 times worse - If I keep myself elevated I cough a lot less!

@regberadaisy: for babies that little, my pediatrician recommends small amounts of warm liquids (like apple juice - but like 10 ml at a time) to thin secretions and a bit of molasses or corn syrup to coat the throat or cut down on coughs.
