congrats August mamas!! So excited to see this group grow!

Add me to the list of skepticals! I had a loss in July, but my BFP result was much more vivid than my previous one so I'm hoping this one sticks around!! According to FF's due date calculator, I'm due on Aug 9, 2013.

Is this your first baby? Yes
Any symptoms so far? Not really. I had random belly "crampings" last week, but didn't think much of it. And maybe heightened sense of smell? My nose is pretty sensitive normally.
When & how did you find out? Took a test yesterday afternoon (12/2) on a cheapie, and a second line showed up pretty quickly so I took First Response test and the test line showed up immediately and was super dark. Darker than the control line!
What are you most excited for? A sticky and healthy baby!
What are you least excited for/worried about? Pregnancy symptoms (morning sickness, etc.), crazy pregnancy weight gain, a m/c, tearing during birth

@.twist.: Hello due date twin!! Kind of a weird at the same time since you tested positive 5 days ago and yet we have the same due date!

Congratulations August 2013 mamas!! I can't believe we're that far into the year for august babes, but that makes me very happy for you guys!!!!

First baby? YES! After 2 years TTC!
When and how? Nov 28, when AF didn't show and my temp rose instead of fell, I tested. It was faint, but positive. The many other tests since then have been mega positive! Due August 8
Most excited: everything! Symptoms, kicks, Ultrasounds, all of it!
Least excited? I'm terrified of a loss.

@Mrs.Someone: Welcome!!! Just out of curiousity, why are you waiting past the first trimester to reveal your name?

@Chastenet: That is kind of scary that we have such "parallel" lives! haha! I'm hoping to follow you in your footsteps in delivering a healthy baby!! Mind sharing your birth story since you know, we're so darn similar and all. Ha! You can post it on my wall or PM!!

@Alivoo01 - nope, not at all! I understand being curious :) I do feel a little silly for being anon, but better safe than sorry I guess!

So those of you who are a few days ahead, what happened when you called your doc? I didn't call yesterday because I wanted DH to be the very first to know when he got home. Calling as soon as the office opens today. I imagine there will be at least a blood draw. I have an already-scheduled acupuncture appointment today too.

@Mrs.Someone: I have my first doc appointment tomorrow afternoon. I'm not really sure what it will include but I'll make sure to update. :) Hopefully she'll send me for blood and then possibly set me up for my first ultrasound.

@Mrs.Someone: I had my blood drawn yesterday to test my HCG and progesterone levels. I should hear something back today, and if things look good, I'm assuming we'll schedule the first pre-natal appointment which will include an ultrasound in a couple weeks where I'll be about 7 weeks pregnant.

@Mrs.Someone: My midwife practice doesn't do appointments until 8-10 weeks, either. My first appointment is January 2, when I'll be about 10 weeks. I'm a little nervous about waiting that long, but I guess as long as I get a positive test every week or so, I'll maintain my sanity.

@Chastenet: @banana: @FutureMrsMcK: Isn't it fun to see all the August Moms go through the same thing! I am an August 2011 mom, but am also testing this month to maybe be an August 2013 mom. Not sure how I feel about having two August babies!

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon, it appears that I'm m/cing. I'm doing OK though... Best wishes to all you August mamas! I hope to see you on that side again soon.

I have my first u/s appointment on the 19th, really looking forward to that. :)

Any symptoms so far? Not really. I've been sleeping like garbage but been really tired, so that's something, and I feel like I can smell EVERYTHING way more than usual.

When & how did you find out? Took a Clearblue Digital Friday afternoon, not expecting it to be positive, and lo and behold!

What are you most excited for? a happy and healthy baby!

What are you least excited for? I'm really worried about another loss, but trying to stay positive.

@.twist.: I was just telling my husband that we're going to have to tell our families before our first appointment because I'm not going to be drinking, and they're going to want to know why! I'm hoping to not have to tell EVERYONE yet, but I know I will have to tell my in-laws, sister-in-law, niece, and my dad and brother before the appointment, and probably the friends we're spending New Year's with. I KNOW they will not buy any silly excuse about why I'm not having champagne!

@.twist.: Agreed! It would be great to be like 12-13 weeks around this time, and get to deliver the good news via some fun holiday way. My hubby is just really gun shy about telling people too soon after our miscarriage last year. Ugh! Me, I don't mind as much. I learned a lot from the experience, and have decided it's nothing to be ashamed of, and why should we hide what happened to us?

However, I will be waiting to post anything on Facebook or to the masses probably until 20 weeks, or at least like 15.
