@Chastenet: I'm so glad you started this! I've been meaning too but didn't get around to it! I'm due August 3rd with our first. I can't really grasp that it's actually happening!

@aMohror: Congratulations! It's my first, too But my second pregnancy as I had an early m/c last August. I am really hoping this one is a sticky baby! Are we at 12 weeks yet???
apricot / 468 posts
@Chastenet: I'm so sorry to hear that Let's hope all of us don't have to go through anything like that again! Oh gosh, bring on the 12 weeks! It's a constant worry all the time! Have you told anyone?
kiwi / 614 posts
@aMohror: Well, DH knows, he was there when I tested. And I told one colleague/friend. But I won't tell anyone else for a little while because of the prior m/c. How bout you? Have you told anyone?
apricot / 468 posts
@Chastenet: Yeah, I don't blame you. It sucks because it's so exciting you want to share with Everyone! My hubby knows, one colleague/friend, and our really good friends who we hang out with ALL the time. It's kinda hard not to tell them since they would figure it out eventually. We aren't telling anyone else for quite a while though. My MIL is coming over tomorrow for lunch...I was telling my hubby I don't want to be left alone with her because she knows we were trying to conceive! haha

Can I join too? Just got my BFP today too and FF gave me August 10 as my due date. Two days before our first wedding anniversary! What a perfect gift

I just wanted to stop by and say Congratulations! I just had an August baby, and its so much fun to remember that we were in your shoes a year ago! Definitely document as much as you can about your pregnancy (but your OB should give you a copy of your records in case you don't). Being pregnant in summer really wasn't all that bad but be prepared to wear sandals.

Can't wait to start telling people after the 1st trimester. This will be my 2nd and we're so excited!

Anyone feel any symptoms yet? For me, just some mild cramps and i'm constantly thirsty!
pomelo / 5720 posts
@banana: I still have cramps too but they seem to come and go. I am also really thirsty and have had some heartburn at night. I'm feeling really bloated and gassy today too. Let's hope that doesn't last long
coconut / 8299 posts
@orvis18: I forgot about the gassiness. Ugh. Hate that one. I had major morning sickness with my first child so I'm just HOPING HOPING HOPING that it's not as bad the 2nd time. My MS kicked in around the 6th week.
pomelo / 5720 posts
Ugh. That sounds awful. I did read something though that said miscarriage I less likely if you have some morning sickness though. Weird huh?
coconut / 8299 posts
Yeah, I heard that too. That was the only thing that was keeping me from chopping my head off! Knowing that the MS was good for the baby. I just hope it's not as bad as the 1st. I don't mind some MS, just not all day every day!

Nothing too exciting to report I'm afraid. She went over some of the do's/don'ts and told me to call back when I've had another missed period, so when I'm around 8 weeks. She said I could call at 6 weeks to schedule the appointment if I really wanted to (ie: am going crazy waiting) but that it would probably be the last week of Dec or first week of Jan.

I just came back from my OB's office and they took my bloodwork to test my HCG levels. I had low progesterone the first time and had to take prometrium (progesterone supplements) so they wanted to test me early. I also have an early ultrasound scheduled in December to make sure that the sac implanted in the uterus correctly due to a previous miscarrage I had. I have to go back on Thursday for another blood test to check up on my HCG levels.
My OB's office is ultra conservative, which is good and bad. I like that they check and double check everything. But that means that I'm always at the doctor's office so my work manager isn't too thrilled all the time.

@Orvis18: It doesn't seem real to me either! I'm excited but I don't think its all sunk in yet!

I just recently heard the exact same thing you two ladies heard about morning sickness and MCs. You two are ahead of me, I haven't even called the doctor yet I've been trying to figure out a doctor and I finally decided today so I will be calling tomorrow! I'm hoping they will have me come in instead of waiting but I guess I'll have to wait an see
pomelo / 5720 posts
@banana: Sounds like your dr is very thorough which is great. I was really hoping that we would be able to go in for the first appointment before Christmas because I'm not sure I want to tell our family until we know for sure that things are looking okay.

Can I join? Just got my BFP on Sunday (and then again Monday)! From what I found out online it looks to be a Aug. 11th due date but I'm sure that'll change once I get to a doctor. Not a ton of symptoms other than bloated and minor cramping...and a nausous feeling but haven't actually puked yet. Still doesn't seem real! Congrats ladies : )

@Orvis18: I was hoping to get in before X-mas as well b/c we reeeeally want to tell our families over the holidays but I doubt they'd see me that early. I'm just not sure it's a good idea to spill the beans w/o getting it 'confirmed' first w/ an MD...decisions, decisions! What do you think you'll do?
pomelo / 5720 posts
@ktgee04: I really don't know. I'm thinking I might try to convince them to see me the Th or Fri before Christmas as I would be *almost* 8 weeks by then. I had a few biopsies and a LEEP several years ago due to abnormal cells so I'm not sure if this will sway them to see me a little earlier. If not, I think I will probably tell my mom and sister as they have both had miscarriages, but not anyone else.

@Orvis18: They may have you come in a little earlier if they believe you to be high risk due to a previous or current medical condition.
pomelo / 5720 posts
Yeah, I don't know if I would be considered high risk but it is definitely something I'm going to bring up when I call to schedule in two weeks. I am a pretty anxious person so the more reassurance I can get from my dr's, the better I will feel. I'm sure that's true for most of us though. Pregnancy is nerve-racking!

Anyone else feeling bloated and crampy? I don't remember feeling this crampy with my 1st baby. Hope everything's ok.... =\
pomelo / 5720 posts
That describes me perfectly. It seems to come and go though and is worse as the day goes on. I've read that it is normal because of the hormones and expanding uterus. I hope everything is okay....

I am pretty crampy and bloated too. Those are the only real symptoms I have though thus far which is kinda of scary...never thought I'd wish for sore boobs! I have had a few pangs of nausea but nothing too bad. What is a normal amount of cramping?
pomelo / 5720 posts
This is what I read on AmericanPregnancy.org:
"Pregnant women can have some light cramping early in pregnancy. The cramping is often like light menstrual cramps through the lower abdomen or on one side or the other. The cramping is often a result of all the changes that are occurring in the uterus. The uterus is experiencing change as the implanted egg begins to grow and develop.
Some light cramping may also be from the small cyst that can develop on the ovary at ovulation called the corpus luteum cyst. A small cyst forms in the spot on the ovary where the egg pops out before making its journey to the uterus. This cyst then produces progesterone until the placenta has formed enough to begin producing its own progesterone. This small cyst can cause some discomfort for women in early pregnancy."

@Orvis18: Thanks for that info. Yikes...that last part is a little scary! I wasn't sure what is normal and what should be a cause for concern but it seems I'm still in the clear...mine haven't been severe yet at all

I just had to share with you ladies since not very many people know that I'm pregnant! I scheduled my first appointment yesterday and it's for....December 12th! I thought for sure I was going to have to wait much longer, but I'm so excited to have a date set!
coconut / 8299 posts
@ktgee04: Oh, don't worry too much about the cyst. I had one too with my first (as did my best friend and my cousin) and my OB told me they almost always dissolve away on their own before you deliver (which is what happened to me). The word "cyst" freaked me out but he said it's just the technical term and in this situation, it's not dangerous.
@amohror: Congrats and welcome to the board!!!! I love that we have this small little group of August 2012 baby mamas. It'll be a fun journey we can all experience together.
kiwi / 575 posts
I want to join this group I'm scared to get too involved though because it is SOOOOO early and we had a loss very early with my first pregnancy. So, I'm joining anxiously and hoping to get through to 12 weeks and then I might relax a bit...
I got my BFP last Friday, Nov. 25 and my EDD is Aug. 4. My only symptoms are fatigue, super sore boobs, hungry all the time and thirsty. I also have some minor cramping especially at night.
Congratulations to you all - I'm excited to be on this journey with you all!

I would like to join too! Got my BFP on 11/27 and due on 8/3. I just want these next 7 weeks to fly by!!
I feel mildly crampy off and on but other than that totally normal. I go in for a 6 week ultrasound next Wed Dec 7. I can't wait!
We haven't told anyone. We're telling our parents at Xmas - there cannot possibly be a better present to give them!
Congrats to everyone!

@MissBBC: congratulations! Also, we are EDD twins! We are also telling family in Christmas I already had to lie to them because they were asking how the baby making was going...I found the Cutest ornaments to announce it! We are just going to wrap them up and wait for their reactions! I'm so excited! Only have to keep it from them for 24 more days haha.

@aMohror: Yay! I have a due date twin! What do you Xmas ornament gifts look like/say?
