    @pregnantbee: Thanks! Went for a breakfast taco after I guess it'll take a couple days for the results, but the actual process wasn't as bad as I thought.

    @pwnstar: Aww, that was so nice of your H's coworkers! I have made a registry on Babylist, mostly to keep track of the things I like while I was doing research. Also my mom asked me to, so I think her friends may have asked about it. She's the first of her friends to have a grandchild so everyone is excited.

    Also, we're doing maternity photos and I've started to think about what I want to wear. What do you all think of this dress? http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Maternity/ASOS-Maternity-WEDDING-Drape-Cold-Shoulder-Midi-Pencil-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=6108459

    Omg I hint I pulled a muscle in the side of my torso and it hurts so much. I've got my ring sling wrapped around me right now to try to relieve some of the weight. I have to clean my house tonight to get ready for my daughters birthday party tomorrow 😭

    @pwnstar: I might have to get DH to go out somewhere nice for dinner so I can wear it more than once

    @Silva: that sounds awful, I'm sorry! I hope you start feeling better soon.

    Ladies, we're on our 1-night babymoon/anniversary weekend in a beach town. I wish we could do this all the time! Beautiful weather, pool (uh, didn't buy a maternity suit, so it was amusing how little my tankini covered!), amazing dinner. What a treat! Our son loves spending time with grandma and grandpa who came in from out of town, they love spending time with him. Everyone wins!

    @pregnantbee: yay! Have fun!!

    @Silva: ugh! That's the worst especially when you have things to get done. Ive been having pain on my right side on and off this week.

    @MrsSCB: So I missed the part about you not having a shower. I don't think you need to feel lame about that!! If you are in an area in which you didn't grow up, then I can certainly imagine not having many friends or many people to invite. That's tough. But you should create a registry that can be found through a google search. Maybe your girlfriends from back home or college will want to send you something. And if you have to buy everything for yourself, I really think its possible to do baby stuff on the cheap. I'm currently working on reigning in my own pricey preferences for baby stuff and really, there's deals to be had everywhere I look. Hope you are feeling a little less stressed about it all! And lastly, the dress you picked out is perfect!!!

    @Silva: I'm so sorry about the pulled muscle! I hope it feels better in the morning.

    @pregnantbee: Your trip sounds lovely. I hope you are enjoying it!

    @agold: thanks most of my friends are up and down the east coast, so it was a lot easier to travel for events when we were in NY. It's a bit more of a hike from TX. And I have definitely been on top of finding sales, at least for baby clothes, so I'm hoping to do the same with everything else!

    @pregnantbee: so jealous!

    @pregnantbee: jealous! Enjoy!

    I wrapped my belly using my ring sling and it helped enough to get the cleaning done. I also ordered a belly support band from Amazon to hopefully avoid continuing to exacerbate it. Probably should have thought twice about using the sledge hammer to drive posts for the garden....

    Was someone else inquiring about the symptom of hating everyone/short fuse? I am so easily annoyed by people, to the point where I feel like I can't be around about half my acquaintances - even some friends! Unfortunately that list also seems to include my husband's whole family...

    @Silva: This just made me laugh so hard!! I"m so sorry you are feeling that way. Sometimes I get that way for no reason at all!! How is your side feeling? How was the birthday party?

  18. Silva

    cantaloupe / 6017 posts

    @agold: definitely better, thanks for asking! I'm still pretty achy, but Tylenol and wrapping my belly helped a ton. The party went really well and my daughter had fun!

    @pregnantbee: looks wonderful! Yeah, my mom and dad didn't come out till DD was 10 days old, but we really wanted to be just a family of three for a while. This time we know we'll need help and my in-laws are the opposite of helpful (we provided them with food when they came to meet their granddaughter). My mom will be helpful, not just waiting around for labor! Enjoy the rest of your babymoon!

    @agold: my mom will clean for me! I don't leave it for her to clean, but she is super helpful!

    @OldpuebloJenn: Totally understand about needing help now that you already have one child. We're in the same situation. We've been been back from the babymoon since before noon. Would love another week!

    @Silva: um yes, this was me! I'm sorry you have it too, but kinda relieved im not the only one who suddenly became totally intolerant of others this pregnancy! I'm glad you're feeling a bit better!

  22. Silva

    cantaloupe / 6017 posts

    @Pirouette: I was so annoyed with so many moms at the party yesterday! Normally I like them all a lot, but last night I was just like "I hate everyone. I need new friends." It was such a strong and bizarre feeling, I began to think.....maybe this is more hormonal than reality based....

  23. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

    @Silva: @Pirouette: Yes, I'm so irritated too. I have to close my door some days at work. I'm irrationally mad at everyone else because I have insomnia.

  24. Pirouette

    pomegranate / 3331 posts

    @Silva: yea, it's rough. I don't want to be around anyone lately! except my daughter and DH - thankfully I'm still good with them

    @T.H.O.U.: work is the worst! I find taking a walk at lunch is totally necessary for me these days to keep an even keel.

  25. MrsSCB

    pomelo / 5257 posts

    @Silva: Yup, I keep telling my husband I hate everyone ("except you, of course!" I add ). Especially while driving. Glad the party went well and you're feeling at least a bit better!

    I found out this morning that I passed my GD test, yay! Bring on the birthday cake oreos (which I bought yesterday...) Also, I think I need to be better about resting and listening to my body after this weekend. We went on a three-mile walk Saturday, then yesterday we went to the gym and ran errands all day and then cooked dinner. After dinner I was getting a lot of BH and some back pain so I had to make myself lie down and chug water. I need to be better about realizing I'm overdoing it before getting to that point

    Also, does this sound familiar to anyone? I've started getting a weird back pain. It's only on the right side and it's sporadic. It feels like a sudden sharp, burning pain, like a lightning bolt on my back above my hip and below my rib cage. Then it goes away. Kind of reminds me of nerve pain -- is that possible? Anyway, it's annoying!

    @Silva: Haha, I went bra shopping Saturday and was unreasonably annoyed at the women trying to help me. I outright told both of them I just wanted to be left alone to shop. I mean seriously - I come out of the room to find more because NOTHING fit. My band size went up (which never happened the first time), I couldn't figure out the cup size and they all fit differently. Do I really need to tell some strange woman that I'm pregnant and my boobs are suddenly bigger and I have no idea which size or style to have you get, so please leave me alone while I figure it out?

    She was also flabbergasted when I didn't want to take the free sunglasses they were giving away with purchases over $75. It was all I could do to *not* say to her that I had $$$ Tiffany sunglasses in my purse and didn't need free ones.

    @T.H.O.U.: @Silva: You girls are making me laugh. Shutting office door and declaring a hatred for everyone and a need for new friends. I get these feelings too sometimes!!

    @MrsSCB: So glad you passed your diabetes test. I was going to say you had an awesome weekend but I'm so sorry if any of it caused you to have the braxton hicks. but who would have thought what you did would be anywhere close to "over doing it." Pregnancy is weird.

    @ShootingStar: You are funny, too. I hate when salesclerks try to help when you don't want their help. I've been putting off bra shopping to a point that its now ridiculous. I hope you found one you like!

  28. MrsSCB

    pomelo / 5257 posts

    @agold: Yeah it didn't seem that crazy to me! I think the biggest issues were that I didn't really sit down much and I don't drink enough water (story of my life). I told my husband to help me try to make sure I'm resting enough and I bought a new water bottle to hopefully help with the water stuff.

    On another note, I finally got to talk to my boss about my leave today. I told her about the confusion with HR and asked about the possibility of working from home for the last couple weeks and she said she was open to it. She also told me that since I had already offered to still edit our next issue of the magazine while I'm on vacation in two weeks that I could request three days of PTO instead of five. So overall a good discussion!

    grapefruit / 4045 posts

    @MrsSCB: Yes, that is a great discussion!! I'm so glad you at least opened up the topic of you taking the extra few weeks and that your boss was open to it. Is she's open to it, then I consider it almost a for sure thing.

    My boss told me I looked great today and asked how far along I am. I said "6 months" and his face was shocked. I said "Sooo.. I will need to talk to you soon about my maternity leave plans." And I swear he changed the topic immediately. Hahahah. like it or not, I'm taking it, buddy!

    @MrsSCB: Congrats on passing your GD test, but sorry about the new pain. Ugh. Can you call your OB to ask? Maybe your dr can refer you to a chiropractor or PT specialist?

  31. pregnantbee

    grapefruit / 4717 posts

    @ShootingStar: UGH. Not a fan of bra shopping, but I actually like when they do all the work for me. I tend to have a higher rate of success when I'm not the one stabbing at various styles and size combinations. At this point, though, since my bras got too small, I just started wearing the more flexible nursing bras with no underwire. It was easier than getting fitted for what would most likely be a temporary size. And the best part is that wire isn't digging into the top of the bump. I wear the Bravado Body Silk Seamless. They're the best of the nursing bras that I've seen -- not as much support as an underwire, but certainly good enough even with a large cup size.

    I'm returning something to and picking up something from IKEA before work (late work day), and I feel like I've just had a full body workout. #pregnancyproblems

    @pregnantbee: Oh gees, pregnancy problems for sure! But in all honesty, I think IKEA feels like that way to me all the time. Its so big. And similar to how you are feeling, I just realized that I am now getting out of bed in a way that makes it look like I'm exerting extreme effort to do so. Husband laughed at me this morning!!
