@momazon: @FliegepilzHut: @PurplePumps: @jaguar: Thank you . Still at home, beta results will be available in the morning.
@PurplePumps: Gosh that is incredibly frustrating!!

@PurplePumps: Ugh, that's the worst!! I'm so sorry. Will your RE by any chance let you "pay ahead" for some portion of the next cycle, so it can hit in this year? I know that's a long shot... but I normally had to pay before I started any cycle, so maybe it would partially work? Good luck!

@momazon: Hm, that's an interesting idea! I will have to call and ask, definitely worth a shot. Thanks for the suggestion!

@PurplePumps: That is a really fantastic idea, actually! Good luck!

Popping in, reading about the HB gift exchange... Does anyone want to do a holiday sock exchange? I can open this up to others with IF.

@PurplePumps: Also, is there any additional bloodwork testing you could do in the interim, which could help in future cycles? Maybe karyotyping? (I can't remember if you've gotten that done already- I never did because of the $$$). Or are they going to need you to repeat any of the pre-IVF procedures, such as the mock transfer or fluid sonogram?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@momazon: Thanks for the suggestions! They charge the entire IVF cycle as one charge and everything else that is not IVF/FET/IUI directly related to the actual fertility treatment for does not count toward the max so it wouldn't matter if I squeezed them in.

Has anyone ordered Lupron from freedomfertility.com (or anywhere else). Is it really just $99 for the 14 day supply? Are there different forms of this (generic vs non-generic) that make any sort of difference since the site specifies generic? The pharmacy I have to order meds through to get covered requires new pre-authorization since I'll be on a new plan next year, which they can't do until Jan 2 and it takes them a few days to process. I want to start the cycle right away (I know, impatient ) and am trying to decide if I should just pay for it or wait a few more days for insurance to work itself out.

Yes, the 14-day Lupron kit is only $99 and it comes with 14 of the insulin needles (it's all in a little box). If you need to do the Microdose Lupron, that is more expensive ($199) and comes in two vials that need to be kept refrigerated. (I've ordered Lupron from Freedom in the past).
Bluestripedbee had some great luck with pricing from another place called WinFertility - you should check out her posts and maybe call them for a quote on your meds once you get started up again.

Just wanted to post an update. I had my egg retrieval this morning. They were able to retrieve 24 eggs. But, only 11 can be used for insemination. They wrote a note on my sheet saying "many oocytes were degenerated upon retrieval."
I wish I had more of a chance to talk to the embryologist about this. She came in when I was still pretty crampy and sleepy from the procedure.
But, just curious if anyone has had issues with degenerative eggs or possible reasons for this? I'm hoping the 11 will be sufficient...
We'll hear about our fertilization report tomorrow. I'm hoping for good news.

@winter_wonder: They may have left retrieval too long and the eggs were too mature? That's still quite a haul! x Rest up!
@mama2em: Good luck!
kiwi / 613 posts
@winter_wonder: Congratulations on getting through your retrieval! I'm not sure exactly what the doc's note means, as the only three numbers I've ever gotten are #retrieved/#mature/#fertilized. But eleven is a great starting point! Are you doing traditional IVF, or ICSI? Good luck!!!

Oh, you guys with your BFP's are making me so sad we never got a transfer!!!
kiwi / 613 posts
@jaguar: I'm so sorry you're having to wait and do a FET-- that must be so rough. I've never had a threatened OHSS, so I'm definitely feeling fortunate (sounds so scary!) Have they given you an approximate date yet of when you can transfer? You're in an in-between cycle now, right?

@jaguar: Hang in there, sweetheart! I know how frustrated you're feeling, but I'm sure your time is coming!

@jaguar: thank you! i'm so sorry you have to wait. i totally get it that waiting is like the worst thing about this whole journey. everything is a wait! i hope the time goes by fast for you though and i'll be rooting you on when it's time! hugs!
