@mama2em: congrats!!! Def sounds like twins to me I never spotted but know it can be very common with IVF pregnancies.
@momazon: woohoo! So happy for you!
@FliegepilzHut: loved seeing your second line, I had a feeling this would be the one!!
So excited for all the Christmas BFP's. It's a season of miracles

Congratulations to all you ladies who had BFPs this round. Wonderful news! My first IVF round failed (found out almost two weeks ago) and knowing that some of you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel makes me so happy. Yay for you! Good luck with all the excitement to come.

Went in for my transfer this morning (day 5). No healthy embryos Ugh. I'm so confused/angry about how things went downhill so quickly. My fert report on Saturday said 7 fertilized. But apparently they're really behind developmentally.
So, we opted for no transfer today, the doctor just didn't think it would make sense but left it up to me. I decided not to....it just seems so unlikely.
Anyway, embryos are going to be kept in the lab for a couple more days to see if they can catch up. I should hear more info in a few days.
I know there are so many of you on this board who have done multiple ivf cycles. I don't know how you do it. The whole process is so heartbreaking.

@GreenThumb: Thank you!
@MrsMed: I'm so sorry to hear that. Wishing you lots of luck!

@winter_wonder: Ugh...that is so heartbreaking. It would be wonderful if one or two could continue to develop... FX for you!

@MrsMed: I am so sorry to hear your first cycle failed! I don't have my success story yet, but my second cycle did go much better than my first so I have some hope! Best of luck to you!!

@winter_wonder Gosh, I'm so sorry. Here's to the next round. Wishing you luck. Please let us know what your next steps will be.
@sunshine1810 - Yay for hope! I hope this next round is the one that sticks!

@GreenThumb: Thank you! I'm still so nervous it's going to go away, but I think that fear will be with me for a while. Have you decided how to move forward?
My first OB ultrasound is next Friday-- I hope we see something!! (I'll only be 6weeks 2days.)
@MrsMed: I'm sorry the cycle brought you a negative. It's always so rough, no matter how many times you go through it.
@winter_wonder: That's so devastating-- I'm so sorry. Hopefully they learned a ton this cycle that they can use to get you a much better result next time. I've been through several failed cycles, and each one has pushed me forward and taught us a little more about my crazy body. Hope they can tweak things for you too.

Hi Ladies,
So, no embryos ended up catching up or growing any more. None to freeze. All embryos were discarded today
I talked with the doctor on the phone this afternoon. He thinks it's likely an egg quality issue. He said that less than 1% of people have as high of a degenerative egg percentage after retrieval--mine was 54%
Here was other info from an additional email he sent me earlier: "Unfortunately, we cancelled the transfer because all of the embryos had arrested at the cleavage stage. This was quite unexpected as five good quality 2- to 4-cell stage embryos were observed on culture day 2 and three 6- to 8-cell stage embryos observed on culture day 3. In order to limit the embryos' time outside of the incubator, our laboratory does not observe the embryos on culture day 4"
He suggested additional genetic testing on my end before we think about doing anything else. I'll also set up an appointment to discuss next options in the near future.
@fliegepilzhut, @jaguar, @sunshine1810, @mrsmed, @momazon: Thank you guys so much for the support . This is so isolating in real life. I don't know what I would do without HB.

@winter_wonder: I know my clinic doesn't check on embryos on day 4 too, as they don't want to disturb them too much. It's such a blow though, and I'm so gutted for you.
What do you think you'll do now? x

@winter_wonder: Again I'm so, so sorry. I really hope that you get some good answers.

@Sunshine1810: Thank you! I hope I can feel a little less nervous soon! FX that you get to schedule your FET soon!!! Are you planning for next cycle?
pear / 1556 posts
@FliegepilzHut: I hope you can too! Well I still haven't had AF since my D&C, so I'll start the cycle after my next cycle back. Who knows when that will be at this rate!

@Sunshine1810: Well, enjoy the holidays, then! And drink a glass of wine...or a beer...or cider...for me, please!

Argh...I'm worried that the lab screwed up...and I may not get my lab until tomorrow.

So... this was a horrible weekend. Things had been going so well, with three doubling betas and no spotting, but then late at night this weekend, I started bleeding red blood and passing big blood clots. I have an ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday morning (couldn't go today/tomorrow due to work commitments). I know there's a small chance, like maybe it was a SCH and the baby is fine, but the bleeding was so similar to my first miscarriage I can't imagine there's going to be a good result. Well at least I'm not in any pain, other than emotional. It's just that my husband and I had been sooo excited and confident about this one. Ugh infertility gods why can't you cut me a break?

@FliegepilzHut: Did they ever call you with the update? That would drive me nuts!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@momazon: I'm so very sorry! I know there are lots of possible scenarios....I'm hoping and praying for you that this is one of them and you get unexpectedly good news with your US. Stupid IF....
Nope, no news today...my clinic has not received the results yet and the only reasonable explanation I can think of is that the draw site didn't send them for same-day processing. My crazy is waxing and waning...and probably will for a while.

@FliegepilzHut: Ugh, that is the worst as if waiting for results isn't torture enough, sending good vibes your way

@momazon: I'm so sorry to hear about the bleeding. I am hoping for the best for you and that it is just a SCH or something else rather than an MC. Did you have cramping or just bleeding?
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@mrswin: Thank you! I'm trying to figure out which cages to rattle if I don't hear anything by mid-day tomorrow...
kiwi / 613 posts
@mrswin: Thanks. I only had one little twinge i guess might have been a cramp, but i didn't have cramping or back pain with the first loss either so maybe my body just doesn't have the cramping with such an early loss?
nectarine / 2433 posts
@FliegepilzHut: You have more patience than me. I would have left a message tonight to be one of the first calls tomorrow
@momazon: I am thinking nothing but good thing for you
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@mrswin: Oh, I totally did that...twice.
ETA: I'm hours away from my clinic, so I got my draw at a local lab. But the clinic confirmed they definitely haven't received them yet.

Sorry ladies to be MIA! It's been a busy couple of days and just now got a chance to catch up!
@FliegepilzHut: ah that is torturous! Hoping you get good news Asap tomorrow. Being patient is so hard throughout this whole process.
@momazon: I hope it turns out to be nothing, but I know seeing blood is so disheartening. Mine lasted for a day and a half and at times it was bright red too. It was mostly mixed with CM- is yours like that or is it big clots? I went to the drs a couple days ago for another scan and things are progressing so the spotting ended up being just a big ol' scare. Crossing my fingers for you!!
I need to catch up on this thread but hope all you other ladies are doing well!
pear / 1556 posts
@momazon: I really hope that everything is okay! Keeping you in my thoughts!
@FliegepilzHut: That is beyond frustrating! I hope you get them soon!
pear / 1556 posts
@FliegepilzHut: I would definitely be losing it! I am so sorry they are putting you through this!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@Sunshine1810: Ironically, just after I finished trying to figure out how things apparently went wrong over at the lab...my phone rings, and it's the nurse at my clinic, calling to tell me my results! She asks how I'm doing, I say "hysterical." My level was 1457 today...they say they would've preferred "1600" but it's close. Makes my doubling times a little high...but still okay (less than 72 hours). More waiting now. I've got an ultrasound scheduled for Christmas Eve!
pear / 1556 posts
@FliegepilzHut: That's really close, and still less than 72 hours! Fingers crossed for you!!!
