@78h2o: That sounds fun! I'd say let the girls out! We are super lame, and have no plans. All of my fun friends like to party, so I don't want to be around a bunch of drunk people- ha!!! We'll probably hang out at home and watch a movie.

I'm jealous that everyone is finding out the gender and having their anatomy scans so soon! Ours isn't until the end of January. Womp womp.

@78h20: That sounds fun! We haven't gone out for NYE since DD #1. This year we are having some friends with kids DD #1's age over for an early afternoon celebration. I think we'll pretend that 4.00 pm is midnight so the kids can blow noisemakers, etc. etc. We assume everyone will take off by 6.00-ish, so we'll do normal bedtime routine and try hard not to stay up too late ourselves as DD#1 is an early riser. I know, it's super glam

We had our 16 week appointment today and found out we were having a girl! This will be the first girl grandchild on either side so we are preparing ourselves for a lot of spoiling..... Both grandmas are at the store now shopping

@glitterboots: Yay! Congrats! So many girls for us June mamas. My mom went shopping for girl stuff immediately when we told her the gender too!

@glitterboots: congrats!! Love all the girls around here!!

How is everyone doing on them exercise front. I think I'm finally ready to start exercising again. I was doing yoga, running, and barre3-5x a week depending on schedule before pregnant. I've worked out all but once this pregnancy. I think the most realistic thing for me to do now is a walking program. Running was the only no no from my OB due to hypermesis, and the bending over from barre and yoga will certainly make me throw up!

@dc yoga bee: I have been doing a combination of spin, zumba, or elliptical. I modify some of the zumba moves though. I will also throw in some weights for my newly developed flabby arms and armpit fat.

@dc yoga bee: I've been doing spin (SoulCycle) but don't do crunches on the bike or full out sprints. I also do pure barre on occasion. Probably a total of 2-3 times a week combined? I walk a lot with work though.

@78h2o: I agree with @Eko: and @MrsBrewer: flaunt whatcha got sounds like a lot of fun and I hope they do discount u for the wine pairing.
we booked a room at the Disney hotel here in Hawaii. Going to hang out by the pool or on the beach and watch fireworks from our lanai. Just chill. We have the disney timeshare so we go there often.
@Eko: I am the june mama having twins! We found out on Saturday that we are having a boy and a girl! I am so excited and done after these 2!
It tripped me out because I would crave insane amount of protein and stuff like when I was pregnant with my son and then other days all I want is fruit and sugary stuff and spicey stuff which I hear the sugar and sweeter stuff might be what u ctave when u ku with a girl?

@Mrs.KMM: great pictures! Love the little foot!

@dc yoga bee: I just started getting back on the workout bandwagon. I walk and just went on a hike. Cant do any too crazy have to build up. Before I was running hiking and doing insanity. No gym membership so everything has to be outdoors but its so beautiful over here I prefer to be outside.
@Eko: I definitely have to start throwing in weights! My arms look terrible now!

@BabyMats: I was second guessing myself! Must be the holiday week not having me at full brain capacity. That's so exciting that you are having a boy and girl! Also your NY plans sound amazing!

@Eko: thank you. If it makes u feel any better I get distracted mid conversation and just completely forget what the heck I was talking about and could never remember. So bad. These kids are sucking my brains out!

@BabyMats: Congrats on one of each!! If I were in Hawaii, I would be outside too!! Isn't it crazy to have to scale back so much? DH is like, don't you try to run on your walk- OB said no. Womp womp womp!

  17. BabyMats

    nectarine / 2031 posts

@dc yoga bee: thank you! It seriously is so hard to scale back. I miss running so much! Dh is asking if it is even ok to start walking I'm like get me out of this house!

  18. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@BabyMats: Yes!! After being in the house for 8 weeks straight, I just need human contact! We went to top golf last night, and I had a blast just seeing all the people as lame as that sounds. I'm already trying to sign up for a half marathon a few months after babe is here, but who knows how I'll feel, or logistics with LO so ill hold off...for now! Enjoy being out the house momma!

  19. BabyMats

    nectarine / 2031 posts

@dc yoga bee: not lame at all! Sometimes it is just nice to get out and people watch! Wow a half marathon a few months out? U go. I hope u have a very complication free easy no tearing birth so u can do it. Im pushing for getting back into marathon running after these little ones make a year. And by the time they are 2 I want to trained enough to run a marathon at my goal time I have not been able to hit.
    what is top golf?
I hope u enjoy getting out of the house urself!

@dc yoga bee: I could barely walk normally for the first two months...my stitches were still jabbing me until 9 weeks pp! But I know some people who were able to return to exercise after 6 weeks. I hope we'll both have that kind of recovery!

@BabyMats: congrats on the boy and girl! So exciting! I'm jealous of your NYE plans - Hawaii sounds fabulous right now!

We are going to get a discount for skipping the wine pairings - yay!

I haven't been exercising aside from going for walks here and there. I'm still having issues with nausea, but I at least have more energy now. I'm really going to try to be more active once things settle down post-holidays.

@BabyMats: http://www.topgolf.com It's like a fancy driving range with targets, food, and it's heated!

@78h2o: I'm sure I'm having pipe dreams. I ran my first and only half in 2011, and have gotten injured with all three of the half marathons I've signed up for since and was unable to run them. TMI- but last night I was finally up for intimacy with DH since its been like 3 months, and had to stop and run to the bathroom I was nauseas . Gotta be selective with our activities lol! I'm hoping walking will be okay!

@78h2o: thank u! I am pretty excited. It just started pouring over here right now. Hopefully tomorrow will be clear and beautiful.
Wanted to add that I hope ur nausea goes away completely and soon! Thats just sucks still getting sick.
@dc yoga bee: wow that sounds pretty cool. We dont golf but I know my dad would and brothwr would love something like that.
Haha..I almost peed on dh one time when we were doing the deed. He hit my bladder just right and I was up and out of there.

@MamaB: Our anatomy scan isn't until 1/29, but we saw a specialist for our NT scan, where they did blood work that can determine gender. The Dr said that it's 99% accurate, and even though they haven't been wrong yet, they don't recommend buying pink or blue until after the anatomy scan. We actually haven't even told parents yet. DH wants to wait until after the scan and wants to find a fun way to announce (first grandchild on both sides). He likes the idea of having immediate family over for a little gender reveal party, but I don't know if that's tacky?

  24. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@MrsKMM: I don't think it's tacky! My anatomy scan is 1/5, and we are doing a small gender reveal party the 10th with my family in person and his family on skype. This may be the only baby I ever have, and I want to do all the fun things now and try to keep the family involved. We are having the first grandchild on both sides as well!

My anatomy scan is on Jan. 12th. We know it's a boy, so it'll be a confirmation of it. I can't believe that January is tomorrow and in a couple of weeks I'll be 20 weeks pregnant. So fast.

    @BabyMats: thank you

@dc yoga bee: sounds fun! So exciting!

@cascademom: I know! Time is finally starting to move faster...I felt like it was really crawling for awhile. my anatomy scan isn't until the 21st, when I'll be 21 weeks. I pushed it back hoping my DH could go with me that day...we'll see.

@78h2o: I think my DH is going to cut out of work the same time I am. The appointment's at 1:45pm plus the follow up and booking other appointments. I won't be done until 3pm easy. I'm excited for some more ultrasound pics of the little guy. I still have no clue what his name will be.

Is anyone else really constipated? I'd give anything to take a normal poop!

  29. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@MamaB: I was for a really long time and feel like now things are better. I was taking Colace about once a week and I make smoothies everyday and mixed prune juice in it. The colace really helped though. Supposedly water is suppose to help, but never worked for me.

  30. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@MamaB: I have been constipated from day 1 with this pregnancy. I'm sort of regular, and I normally go every other day, but it's always a struggle I do find that the days I drink more water, it's easier to go.

  31. MamaB

    cherry / 234 posts

@Eko: I'm taking 100-200mg of colace everyday and it's still terrible!

  32. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@MamaB: Yikes! That does sound terrible. I would say give the diet a change up if that is something you have not tried yet. Isn't the second trimester suppose to feel dreamy? (or some bs like that?)

  33. cascademom

    coconut / 8861 posts

@MamaB: If I don't take my probiotic regularly, I get constipated. I think it really helps keep things flowing plus lots of water.

Happy New Year ladies! I hope everyone had a fun and/or relaxing night!

I decided the low cut dress was a no-go...too much of a good thing! I wore a lame maternity dress I had from my 1st pregnancy. Apparently the bump was super obvious...at least to drunk folks with no filter/inhibitions! I had more strangers touch my belly tonight than during my entire 1st pregnancy! Almost every single time I waited in line for the restroom, a group of random women I'd never met would comment on or pat my bump. One lady's husband yelled at her, "um, you totally molested that poor stranger!" That kind of stuff really doesn't bother me though...I just thought it was funny!

Here's a super low quality NYE bump photo!

Dinner was great; however, we didn't even get dessert until 1am! Home at 1:45! We owed the babysitter a fortune! Oh well, we had a good time.

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@78h2o: Super cute bump! That's great you still had a good time!

For the mamas who have already felt their baby move I am wondering what it is feeling like? I keep having some maybe gas like bubbling that actually feels uncomfortable. It's not cramping or anything just uncomfortable. Wonder if that's the baby or something else?

@78h2o: You look great!! I'm curious how I'll feel about people touching me? I think I'll probably be more like you with it.

  37. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@78h2o: love that dress on you! Strangers and co-workers touch my belly, and I'm always caught off guard. But, as long as I don't feel people aren't doing it out of love, I'm okay. People are excited about new life is what my mom says!

  38. MamaB

    cherry / 234 posts

@Eko: I'd describe the baby movement as uncomfortable. It doesn't at all feel like this sweet "flutter" that people describe it as. The first few times I felt it, I was surprised, but I didn't know what to expect at all.

I'm so ready for this uterus to move upward! If I sneeze too aggressively, I'm afraid I'll pee lol!

  40. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@MamaB: Thanks! I am glad to hear to hear that it can be uncomfortable! It definitely feels more like muscle cramps than fluttering. Maybe I'll get use to it eventually and it'll stop feeling uncomfortable.

@LindsayInNY: I hear ya. There have definitely been a couple times where that may have already happened.
