I was only saying 1 out of 17 wrong (#14). How about you?

Ha, those all drive me crazy, especially #17!!! I have never heard of #14 though...and for #4, I'm sure there are some unfortunate parents where the baby LITERALLY screamed all night...(and if it was "only" most of the night, I"m certainly not going to correct them!)

Literally, really and seriously are all words that people use wrong and it bugs the crap out of me!!

I can't believe people actually get these wrong (No. 14 aside).

Yep, #14 for me as well! And I agree with @hilsy85: #17 drives me crazy!

#14 here too. But that just sounds dumb. I've never heard anyone say you've got another "think" coming.
DH used to say "down to brass tactics" instead of "down to brass tacks."

@hilsy85: Lol, gotta love that Joey! He's so smart...
The one that really drives me crazy is the last one. I always want to say, "But if you COULD care less, then you obviously do care a little!"

@highwire: 3! Another THINK coming, towardS and I could care less! Although I never really use the first one.

#14, say what?! Also, I know it's incorrect, but I am guilty of #4. It just seems to come out faster when you're saying it.

I think this post is mostly accurate, but #14 is a good example of how language does evolve over time.
Also, some of the rules she gives vary according to the region and the background of the person speaking. Just because something doesn't conform to Standard English, doesn't mean that it's wrong. It just means that it's not Standard English. A good example is the pronunciation of ask versus "ax."

OMG: "intensive purposes" drives me nuts. I've had people email that to me about something work related and my blood pressure spikes! Ditto for "should of" (it just sounds wrong) and "could care less".

haha- so until about 3 years ago I thought it was "a different wok of life" - like different types of stir fries I guess. I think I had just never seen "a different walk of life" in writing. We still joke about it!

Should've sounds like Should of...maybe that's just pronounciation?

When people mess these up it drives me crazy!!! #14 is the only one that I say wrong.

I'm guilty of #10 sometimes, I think. I know it is wrong but it comes out faster. And I agree with @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: that "should've or would've" sound like "should of and would of."
I actually knew #14 was "think" but only b/c my mom would use that phrase all the time when we were kids! ex. "If you think you're staying out until midnight, you've got another think coming!"

I actually knew all of these, and use them correctly, but I can be over zealous with literally. Some of these drive me a little bonkers though!

I am proud to say I correctly use all of these phrases! My SIL uses "literally" all of the time. We give her a hard time on that one.
