Dh says downtown abbey everytime just to annoy me, but we watch it and know the right way.
When it was nominated for golden globes CNN had it listed as downtown Abby. Fail.

I guess I remember hearing it as "downton", plus the missing second w was noticeable to me.

I've never watched it but I noticed the spelling so I've always pronounced it Down-ton.

I always pronounced it Downton, because that's how it is spelled!
DH made fun of me for saying it "incorrectly" until i pointed out the spelling.
