Those with anterior placentas, when did you start feeling lots of consistent movement? I'm 22 weeks, and it is really infrequent, kind of hit and miss... Trying not to freak out, but 22 weeks seems a little late to not be feeling a ton yet.

I felt my first kicks around 21-22 weeks when I had an AP. It wasn't consistent until 24-25 weeks.

@autumnlove: Oh good. That's similar to me so far! Hopefully I'll be feeling more in just a couple of weeks!

Same as @autumnlove: - took really until about 25 and already baby #2 is more active feeling than #1 because I don't have an AP this time. Don't let it worry you! Trust me- by 25 or so you'll have a big increase.

I felt no movement until 22 weeks and no consistent movement until a few weeks later with AP.

same at @autumnlove: I had flutters i wasnt sure about at around 18 weeks, at 21 weeks i felt my first "kick" even at 24-25 weeks I wasnt feeling regular movements or doing kick counts. They were still pretty infrequent but always on my lower left side if i felt them.... I'm pretty sure she just walloped the crap out of the placenta in those early weeks and every once and while would miss and i would feel one low and to the left or high in the center

Mine wasn't consistent until 23 weeks. I'm 27 now and it's non stop now lol It definitely still feels different though than my first pregnancy, which wasn't anterior.

Mine was never all that consistent to be honest, but that's because he was also breech and really squished in there. I guess towards the third trimester I felt him often but it was more squirming and still pretty soft. Occasionally I would feel harder movement that I could see from the outside and DH could feel, but I NEVER felt those crazy kicks people describe. It was a bummer to be honest. And I'm pregnant with baby #2 and have another anterior placenta
I think it just depends too on how much the baby moves - DS was really chill and laid back in the womb, so even if I had a posterior placenta, I don't know if it would have mattered.

ETA: I still felt movement early on, though. With DS I first felt him at 16 weeks, this pregnancy I started feeling movement at 14 weeks.

@NurseDMB: Darn, anterior placenta both times?! I'm hoping for my next pregnancy I don't have that, so I can know more about how it normally feels. Ha - but knowing me, I'll have it again!

Not as far as you, but I'm following along. 19.5 weeks, anterior placenta, hardly any movement! Can't wait for it to get regular!

I have AP, I'm 23 weeks and *just* starting to feel a few things. It sort of feels like popcorn popping - not really defined movement, kicks, anything like that yet. My MFM doctor said a lot of women with AP don't really feel full fledged movement until 25-26w!

@NurseDMB: was your baby breech the entire pregnancy? I've got an anterior placenta, baby is currently breech, and she's really low in my uterus. I'm only 17 weeks though.

I didn't feel movement until 24-25 weeks with DD1 when I had an anterior placenta.

I was feeling movement/kicks properly around 22ish weeks, I remember going to my anatomy scan a couple of weeks late and I could feel a fair few kicks to the cervix area and seeing it on the scan.

I wanted to feel something SO badly but didn't until about 24 weeks. It was super obvious it was him. I never felt the flutters or anything, just kicks. Now, at 31 weeks, I feel him all the time.

@mrscobee: Just wanted to echo others. Had AP with LO#1, didn't feel identifiable movement until almost 21 weeks. Hit and miss for a while but still could feel clear movements later on as baby got bigger and stronger. Don't worry!
I am currently 29 wks pregnant with #2 and movement was still hit and miss for a whole without an AP.

Anterior placenta here and although I realise now i felt some movement around 18 week, at the time I thought it was gas (of which there was plenty ) Movement didn't get anywhere near consistent until about 24 weeks - and I remember around 27 week (b/c it was christmas night) I freaked cause i realised I hadn't felt him in a couple of hours. I remember thinking that even a week or two previous, that wouldn't have registered. I guess what I'm saying is it goes from nothing to everything pretty quick with an anterior placenta, in my experience.

@mrscobee: I had an AP with my pregnancy with my son and he was breech too. I don't remember exactly when I started to feel consistent movements, but like a lot of the others have said, it was later in my pregnancy and it was never crazy kicking like you hear a lot of others describe. I agree with @nursedmb, it was kind of a bummer! I did feel him regularly later on in the pregnancy, but it was more difficult for my husband to feel him bc of the AP.

I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel much until 26 weeks. I would usually feel hiccups after that but not a ton of movement. I would get my minimum movements for a kick count but not much more than that. My midwives really stressed pay attention to what's normal for this baby and don't compare to everyone else.

I have an anterior placenta and didn't really feel anything consistently until I was about 25 weeks. But once I started feeling her, it was very obvious. No small flutters here!

@Mrs. Pickle: Yep. He was breech the whole time & never flipped, and just found out this DS is breech, too! I know it's still early but I'm starting to think it's the way my uterus is shaped or something.

@mrscobee: Yep, both times total bummer! I was hoping to have a posterior placenta this time!
