Ugh, I'm at my wits ends. For about 2 weeks now my LO throws a complete fit when I try to get Her into the tub- screaming bloody murder, kicking, thrashing, trying to bite me, the whole nine yards.
I've tried everything- bribing with treats, getting in with her, only filling it a bit, and basically just forcing her which is just no fun.
I have no clue why she is suddenly so scared. She keeps saying she's afraid and it's too slippery, but she's never fallen in the tub!

My 15 month old JUST went through this! I bought her some new toys and let her play around the tub and in it with no water, then with just a few drops of water. Then, we got in with her (it was a whole family effort.) I really didn't want to force it with summer comig and freak her out about pools, etc. gradually it got better and better. It lasted about 4-6 weeks. Sunday was the first time we didn't have to get in with her and she let us wash her hair without screaming. tonight she was splashing herself in the face and pouring water over her own head. I think the majority of it came from not wanting water in her face. I have been keeping a towel on the edge of the tub and wiping water off her face as soon as it gets on it. She didn't care at all tonight. I'm definitely happy we relaxed about it and didn't force it. I think it's a phase a lot of kids go through at some point! Good luck!

Will she take a shower with you? I know that avoids dealing with the root of the problem but it gets her clean without a battle.

hmm.. maybe she's had nightmares about slipping?
my kids are 2 and 4 and we haven't done baths in months. they love showering!

have never heard of or experiences this! now i'm curious. hope she comes to enjoy a good soak, i know most mamas do.

@catomd00: 4-6 weeks?! Ugh...I hope this doesn't last that long! Good idea about non slip bath mat and going slowly. I can try having her get in with no water and see how that goes...

My son is younger but when we moved he was suddenly terrified of the tub even though it was the same kind we had before. For about a week it was like torture everytime. Finally one night my husband played some music on his phone and it totally distracted him and calmed him down. Maybe that would distract your daughter too?

@NovBaby1112: my little girl was also born in Nov 2012 and she LOVES showering with me so definitely worth a shot. And it's more water and time efficient!

@Truth Bombs: true! Going to give the shower thing a shot tomorrow- now that it's spring/summer she definitely needs a bath/shower every day and I can't take the fight anymore!

We have been through this phase a couple times with my 3 year old. It'll definitely pass, but I feel for you, it is rough. 
One thing my daughter loves as a bribe to get her in the bath is a cup of ice cubes to play with. She loves feeling them melt in her hands underwater. Maybe if yours thinks it's a fun treat it might help? Good luck!!

@NovBaby1112: my DD went thru a phase like this too- funny thing was it ended just as quickly as it started.
I just washed her down as fast as I could while she screamed
