I've recently gotten really into reading birth stories (so if you are thinking about posting one, DO IT). Anyways, I saw an old post where people wrote their birth story in three sentences - I thought it was very interesting what people identified as the highlights.

Mine:
Baby was stubbornly breeched and I had bleeding issues. Planned c-section at 39 weeks. Healthy baby and healthy Mama!

My three sentence birth story:
Med free spontaneous vaginal birth only possible because of my awesome midwife and a fast (for first time) labor, 7 hours from first contraction to baby.
My water didn't break until I was pushing, it shot past the end of the bed about 10feet!
After his shoulders were delivered, I reached down and pulled him the rest of the way out.

Baby was breech early on, so had scheduled c-section at 38+5 weeks. Good recovery. Was happy to be able to eat everything I wanted again in time for Christmas (GD)!

DS1 - Big baby equals scheduled c section. It was an exciting and smooth delivery. Healthy baby and happy mama.
DS2 - Scheduled c section gets pushed up because of low fluid levels. This section hurt! Seeing big brother with little brother makes mama's heart burst with love.

Severe pre-eclampsia led to induction at 37 weeks. All attempts at induction failed to produce any progress after over 36 hours. Resulted in a successful C-section with healthy baby, healthy mama!

Pitocin induction caused heart decels, which meant early epidural in case of emergency c-section. False alarm on heart decels (he just didn't like me lying a particular way) with an easy labor for next 7 hours. Healthy baby born after 3rd set of pushes.

My water spontaneously broke with no contractions, leading to a failed 36-hour induction and an emergency C-section. DS had jaundice and spent a few days in NICU. Didn't get to go home for almost a week, but healthy mama and baby.

I woke up and felt my water break at 39 weeks. Contractions came fast and furious but I was finally able to relax after getting an epidural. Pushing was easier than expected, the first thing we saw was a full head of hair!

Inductions aren't as scary as I thought! I made it to 6cm before asking for epidural (I was impressed with myself). 20 minutes of pushing and we were finally parents!

Dd- My blood pressure skyrocketed at almost thirty nine weeks so am induction was scheduled that night. After a three day failed induction I was sent home on strict bed rest as my blood pressure had stabilized. I went into labor that day, and back to the hospital we went where I delivered a healthy baby girl!
Ds- At 40&3 I knew that baby was never coming out. I decided to let my midwife place cervidil gel to see if my cervix would dilate a bit to make my induction at 41 weeks easier. Baby boy came flying out 3 hours later, holy crap!

PPROM at 33 weeks, followed by a short 4.5 hour labor and delivery. Little one was almost delivered in an ambulance en route to a hospital with a NICU. Four week NICU stay where little guy thrived.

DD: Severe pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome lead to induction at 36w0d. Early epidural thanks to low platelets and magnesium (horrible) thanks to high blood pressure. Eight hours of comfortable labor and 20 minutes of pushing later, our tiny, beautiful daughter was born!
DS: high blood pressure and history of severe pre-e lead to induction at 39w. Vomiting during transition after ten hours of comfortable labor. "I love you" were the first words my baby boy heard.

Induction at 38w due to high blood pressure. Start to finish was 26 hours, but pushed him out in 8 minutes (they made me stop pushing because there was no doctor in the room). Delivered a healthy 6lb. 14oz., 19", baby boy.

Labor started at work and I finished the whole day then went home to eat dinner but contractions soon got very bad. It progressed rapidly and baby was born 2 hours after I got to the hospital. His head got stuck and heart rate decelerated when I wasn't pushing so had to have episiotomy and still got 3rd degree tear.

31 hour back labor with failed epidurals and post-partum hemorrhage. after 2 hours of pushing. Team green turned team blue with a large, healthy baby. Ready to do it again!

DD: Fifty one hours of unmedicated labor. Midwife and I did not have a good rapport which made things more stressful. Baby was beautiful and healthy but I was left with some trauma.
DS: Contractions didn't hurt until they were 2 minutes apart. I was 10 cm by the time I got to the hospital. I got everything I wanted for my first birth which helped me heal the thoughts from my first birth.

Went into spontaneous labor at 40+3, in the evening, with fast and furious contractions. Stalled at 4 cm after epidural but it picked back up after my water was broken. After 11 hours of labor, including 40 minutes of pushing, DS was born healthy at 8 lbs.

#1: My water broke with meconium. Long labor and I stopped progressing, which meant Pitocin and Epidural. Vaginal birth achieved - hooray for painkillers and modern medicine.
#2: What I thought was her butt was her head. Unscheduled c-section. Oh well, healthy baby and mom were #1 priority.

Baby 1:
Chronic high blood pressure with asymetric swelling, headaches, and upper right quadrant pain from 35 weeks on.
Really hoped for a natural birth but finally agreed to a pitocin induction at 39 weeks.
Natural pain med free birth but my son came out blue, by second apgars everything was fine.
Baby 2:
At my 38 week appt I had asymetric swelling, headaches, upper right quadrant pain, but blood pressures under 140/90; the midwife sent me to the hospital for lab work telling me we'd induce in a week.
Blood pressures shot up to as high as 160/100 but they did not want to induce yet because lab work was not back (was in the process of a 24 hour urine test).
Finally induced and had a pain-med free birth, 10 mins after my daugther was born the lab work came back at 1200, anything above 300 indicates immediate induction at 37+ weeks.

Went into labor, contractions started 39+6. Labor was easy, midwife broke my water, and contractions got unbearable! After getting my epidural at 5pm, baby was born at 11 with 1.5 hours of pushing!
Next time I will get the epidural sooner!

Spent a sleepless week in hospital while they tried to induce me. I was refused an epidural and thought I was going to die. Turns out, that was the easy part!

Water broke at 37+5. After 26 hours of back labor with zero meds, contractions were staling out & baby wasn't turning. Got pitocin + epidural, 10 hours later, after two hours of pushing, healthy baby boy was born!

Baby 1: I was late and had a mildly high BP, so I was induced. The epidural failed so I felt everything! Pushed for 2.5 hours but had a healthy baby.
Baby 2: I was late and had a mildly high BP, so I was induced again. The epidural worked!!!! Only a few pushes and out came my healthy baby.

Labor progressed well on its own and after 8 hours and an epidural I was ready to push.
DH could not remember to count and I could not remember to breathe - thank god for oxygen mask and resident counting.
After 4 pushes sweet baby girl was delivered happy, healthy and screaming!

I had 5 days of prodromal labor before my water FINALLY broke - but there was meconium. I wanted a med free birth and labored in the tub for a while, but I got the epidural at 5cm, and then stalled at 8cm. The baby wouldn't have tolerated Pitocin and I had a fever so I had a C-section to meet my daughter, and her perfection made everything else completely worth it.

Labor started on its own at 7 pm at 40w3d. I got sent home from the hospital after a few hours of monitoring. I had baby after 24 hours of labor and one hour of pushing.

Went into labor on a Friday the 13th at 38w6d.
Laboured with intense back labor for 28 hours, 3 hours of pushing later and our posterior baby was born with vacuum assist.
When she was born, DH said "it's a girl!" (while the nurse said "it's a boy!" before Dr confirmed Dh was right - best moment and surprise of my life.

Unnecessary induction which led to lots of pitocin and stalled labor. Ouchie to say the least. 32 hours and 3 hours of pushing later, healthy mama and baby!

Induction led to 6.5 cm then stalled labour, fever and high blood pressure. Unplanned c-section, I was less than thrilled. 3:17am healthy baby born and that was all that mattered in the end.

Unplanned induction at 39 weeks due to pre e. Lots of pitocin, a failed epidural. Baby girl born just after sunrise after 4 hours combined of pushing and 43 hour labor.

Had an unexpected induction due to ("high leak") rupture of membranes at 38.5weeks. Water actually broken after 10hours of pitocin drip, resulting in 5.5hours of intense contractions med-free with posterior position, then a fantastic epidural. Big baby boy turned and was born healthy, 6hours later, after 45minutes of pushing.

DD1: Induced at 39+2 due to blood pressure spikes, pushed for 3+ hours with no progress due to my small canal & DD's size. I spiked a fever, DD's heart rate went crazy, and emergency C-section was needed. Easy recovery for momma but 6 NICU stay for DD due to breathing issues and then jaundice.
DD2: Scheduled RCS at 39 weeks. Went off without a hitch. Healthy mommy & baby who both went home 3 days later!

Went into spontaneous labor at 39+5 that ended in an emergency C-section after I developed a fever after 2 hours of pushing. LO spent 2 days in the NICU due to resuscitation issues and having a fever as well. Mama and baby were home on day 3!

Surprised by pre-e symptoms and news of immediate induction at 37.5w and 4cm dilated. Pretty easy 8-hour delivery. Took home a beautiful, tiny baby boy after a week in the NICU.

DS1- ten days late and three days of u medicated labor. My big headed baby was born during a tornado after 45 min of pushing. We were home after one night!
Ds2- went to my 40 week appointment and I was 9cm dilated. Labored in the tub and only got one round of antibiotics in before he was born. 4 minutes of pushing and I had another son!

Ds1 three days overdue; 20 hours of labor, 2 hours of pushing a big headed baby ended in episiotomy; was home after one day for thanksgiving!
Ds2: water broke early at 38 weeks. Went to hospital at nurse's insistence. Had ds less than two hours later unmedicated after 10 min of pushing!

Induced at 41+1 bc no sign of labor and baby was getting big. Labored for 23 hours until 9cm when it got stuck. Emergency csec that resulted in a healthy, happy baby and a healthy happy mommy.
I hope LO2's recovery goes just as well. I haven't decided if I should do vbac or not
