LO is getting his 4 month shots this afternoon. He isn't a crier but screamed during his 2 month shots and was not himself for a solid 24 hours. I know every baby is different, but, how did your LO handle it? Were they miserable? Out of it for days? Fever? Not phased by the needles? Just want to know what I can expect. Thanks!!

LO ran a slight fever for the rest if the day and part of the next. Other than that she seemed ok, I could tell her little thighs were sore for a few days. She wasn't miserable and was back to herself the next evening. I took it worse than she did

LO is 4.5 months, and she did alright with hers. She was sleepy and clingy for a couple of days but didn't run the low grade fever she'd had with her 2 months. I hope they go well for you!

4 month were loads better than 2 month here! She was awful for the 2 month like your LO, but the 4 month she only cried for a few min and barely had a low grade fever.
Eta - a tip someone gave me, freeze 1-2 teethers and gently hold it on the site afterward while you nurse/bottle feed (if you plan to).

She only cried a few seconds with the second shot. No fever. Does your LO take a pacifier? That's what helped us get through the actual shots!

DS cried for a hot second during both the 2 and 4 month shots, he passed out after for both (shorter for 4 month)... his swelling was worse after 2 month, but he also had a light fever after his 4 month, he was back to his happy go lucky self within a day.

Totally fine for the 4 month shots...2 month were much worse!

LO was miserable for all of his shots. His legs would swell quite a bit after each set, and he would be pretty off the following day. Just really cranky and wouldn't sleep much for us. I'm so glad there aren't any shots for his 9 month appointment! Just a blood draw which he'll scream for, but at least there won't be any lingering effects.

2 month shots were way worse! For her 4 months, she screamed and cried during the shots, then we took her out to the waiting room and gave her a bottle. After the bottle she fell asleep and slept for an hour or two. The rest of the day and all of the next she wasn't as talkative and social, just seemed subdued.

4 month shots were a non-event. 2 month shots were bad, she cried inconsolably for a couple hours after she woke up from a nap that day.

We were the opposite of everyone else it seems - two month shots were a breeze but the four month were a nightmare! After the two month, she was tired and ran a low grade fever of 100.4. The four month shots, she was perfectly fine, barely a whimper when she got her two needles, until about 8 hours later when she suddenly spiked a high fever of 103.6. We woke her to give her some Tylenol but we hadn't even gotten it in her mouth when she started projectile vomiting. It was awful. Our GP clinic sent around an after hours doctor to check her out but by that point her fever was only 100.1, so she was fine. It took two full days before she was completely herself again.
On the plus side, the six month shots were easy peasy again, but those four month were rough. I think we're definitely the exception to the rule though. Good luck!

She cried when she got the shots but then was fine. Towards the late afternoon she was inconsolable so I figured she had some soreness. I gave her one dose of Tylenol and she was perfectly fine afterwards. Hope it goes well!

D had his this week and screamed during. He had a really sad cry throughout the rest of the day and slept a lot (ate normally). I have him Tylenol in the evening and it worked miracles! He's been fine since.

@Mrs Green Grass: I agree..the tylenol was amazing. I felt like I'd given her some super painkiller because it made such a difference! I even called the Ped..who assured me it was totally safe. lol.

He did so well! About a minute of screaming and then big gummy smiles ever since....thanks for sharing your experiences!

A cried for about ten seconds then all was forgiven and she was her super smiley self again. She didn't get a temp but she did struggle to sleep that night, so we gave her some Advil and she was fine!

I spoke too soon....He just woke up screaming so we gave in and gave him some Tylenol. Hoping it soothes his sore little thighs!

@petunia354: Good luck. We had ours today and it has beemm=n a lot worse than 2 month shots. Sad fussy baby with a fever:(
