What does your young, school-age kid want for Christmas? I hoarded Lego sets thinking my 6yo DD would love them. Now all of the sudden, she's not interested in Legos Looking for ideas.

Mine (6yo girl) is still into Legos so can't help you there, though she isn't asking for them this xmas or playing with her sets all the time like she has in the past. I think if she was to get some as gifts though she'd be very excited.
This year she has mentioned a Hatchimal, a play house for the yard, some chapter books, and more Playmobil toys, and squishy toys (thinking this will be a good stocking stuffer).
Her birthday is next week, so we are going to wait and see what she is gifted for that and it will then determine what her xmas gifts are. I believe my mom is going to give her my old American Girl doll and accessories, so we might give her additional clothes/toys either at her bday to coordinate or xmas to add to the fun later.. not sure which approach might be best.

like @lindseykaye: my 6yo doesn't play with his legos as much, but would still be excited to get some sets and has put them on his Christmas list.
Otherwise I'm thinking a lazertag set, a kid's cookbook and apron, some new board games (guess who, battleship, jenga), and an amazon dot for his room.

@kiddosc: ah you reminded me about games. Those are always on the Xmas list for her. I’m looking at Guess Who as well
Also there’s a sneak peek of the Target Black Friday ad today if anyone was interested.

My 6 year old wants an 18” doll, and a leap pad. 🤑 She would be happy with LEGO sets as well. She also has some other toys on her list but they are more toddlerish toys in my opinion so she probably won’t get them.

This is so interesting. My almost 7yo is also less interested in legos being on her list! I already bought on sale the Lego friends set where you build life size accessories and I’m hoping she is excited about that for her bday.
Her two things to ask Santa for are a small jewelry armoire (we saw one at home goods - she loved the door and drawers) and a target brand AG set with baking stuff (she doesn’t even really play with the doll at all - has my old one - but loves the tiny things they come with).
For stocking stuff she loves things like pencils and notebooks, any sort of markers and art stuff, and I always get new books.
She picked out an AG locker for my mom to get her for her bday - we have a target brand school set already that she really loves. My mom is getting her a locket for Xmas and maybe some cheap Claire’s jewelry too.

I also got my 5 year old a Lego Friends set hoping she would be into legos. She asked for an 18 inch doll, chapter books and lots of dresses!

My DD is 5 and we're doing an 18 inch doll (Our Generation--probably a test drive for an eventual American Girl), arts and crafts supplies, and a kids cookbook. She's thankfully not into any other toys (other then magnatiles which we have)--not sure how I lucked out there. I think my mom is going to get them a Kids Kraft big dollhouse (joint gift for 2.5 and 5 y/o).

My DD is almost 5, so she is on the younger side, she has no interest in legos. She has a list that includes a crybaby, squishies, calico critter toy or ice cream shop, LOL dolls, vampirina b&b, blind bags, polly pocket....
