@mrsjyw: Oh you have one in common that's good! DH and I have completely different ones. I just updated my original post to put ours and I added a test but that test only tells you your primary.

@oliviaoblivia: Haha I totally feel you about the gifts thing. For me, I enjoy any gift because it makes me think that the person really thought about me when I wasn't there and that makes me feel loved and puts a smile on my face!
Also when I can't be there for someone... sending / giving a gift helps me show them that I'm thinking of them even though I can't be there with them.
But yeah totally makes me feel materialistic!

I'm words of affirmation. He's physical touch. He's not good with words and I'm touched out at the end of the day (in my defense he doesn't just want to cuddle he wants to grab my boob and watch TV with his hand in my pants, no thanks). So things can be difficult sometimes!!

@Raindrop: our primary languages are def polar opposite though. We did this as our premarital counseling and regrouped at the end of the year (it's been 5 years!) to really focus on each other's language and it's been so so helpful in maintaining and growing our relationship!

Mine is gifts, don't care at all for acts of service, other three pretty equal somewhere in the middle. DH is the exact opposite on his main and least, but at least we meet in the middle! Also, I've heard (and his behavior seems to agree) that people who are into acts of service make great gift givers because it's an act of service to them to find the perfect gift.

@Torchwood: Hm.. DH is acts and he's a terrible gift giver! I mean I appreciate everything he gives me but he usually gives me the exact opposite of what I would want. Well at least he tries.

@LCTBQE: LOL. I took the quiz, I think each question is making you choose between two and then it will tally up which one you choose the most of, is how I felt it work. So quite a few of them would be about gift giving, but equally so should be about spending time with people, getting nice words said, people touching and having things done for you.
I personally thought there was a lot of questions about people saying nice words! Words is the worst for me, so maybe I was just annoyed b/c that's totally not what I would pick. Haha.

@Raindrop: ha, I didn't realize! I like words and time together but generally think presents are overrated and don't like being touched by anyone other than my husband. felt like I kept having to choose between the latter two--I guess I was focused on my personal negative, whoops. PS good thing we aren't married to each other

I'm acts of service and DH is words of affirmation. I try really hard to keep his in mind, since when I'm grumpy I can speak harshly, which really gets him down. Mine totally changed once we had a baby, too - I used to be quality time and touch...

It plays out clearly in our relationship on a daily basis. I try to always remember to perform acts of service if I really want to show love and DH knows to say things to me if I want to feel loved.

@Raindrop: I meant to ask DH to take the quiz when you first posted it. I forgot and I just remembered, so I had to come back and comment. It's a great quiz and great reminder.
I might do a spin off poll and ask people what their lowest love language is.
