@marionberry: haha! I'm sure that'll be me too so no worries!
Poo on your hubby being a pro in that field! Can he tag along, but not say anything?? =D

@alivoo01: He could tag along but not say anything, but I'd be so annoyed that he knew and I didn't.

Update: my blood work from my OB's office just came back. Thyroid is fine, however, the test indicates that I'm not pregnant. I just want to break down and cry y'all. I was really hoping this month would be my month... Is it possible that the blood work taken was too early to detect pregnancy? I was 6DPO when blood was drawn... I'm holding onto any possible hope....

@Alivoo01: Good news about your thyroid. As for the test maybe being too early, I definitely think it is possible. at 6dpo you may not have even implanted yet...

@alayaya: Thanks girl! I'm going to pretend I didn't hear the "you're NOT pregnant" part and keep my fingers crossed I refute that statement later this week.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Alivoo01: yay, on the thyroid! I would also think 6 DPO would be too early to tell because otherwise wouldn't we all be going to the dr every month so we didn't have to wait another week or so
I get my blood drawn Saturday and I think this is one of the random months my body has decided not to O (at least according to CBEFM), so that is lovely...I guess its a quicker start because I'm pretty sure my cnm will start clomid instead of trying to figure out why if I'm O'ing we are not getting pregnant.
I think my tests are going to come back with a thyroid issue, my whole family has them and I've never been tested. I have no idea what she'll do if thats the case, ugh so much uncertainty.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@jetsa: Will you be getting a sonogram done also? I had it done to make sure my cervix and ovaries looked okay (no blockage, etc.). I'm going back to the doctor on CD3 if I'm not pregnant this cycle for another round of blood work. Then a couple weeks after that, I have to fast for another round of blood work to determine next steps for me.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you don't have a thyroid issue even though it runs in your family. You could have lucked out! Keep us posted!
kiwi / 629 posts
@jetsa: Good luck! I hope you don't have a thyroid issue (even though it runs in your family).

@jetsa: good luck with your bw! I just got mine done and it came back that my TSH is high (hypothyroid) so I'm going to an endocrinologist in a couple weeks.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Alivoo01: @Shutterbug: @alayaya: thanks ladies!
@Alivoo01: nope no sonogram yet. Saturday will be cd21 and then I also go back on cd3 if I'm not pregnant.
@alayaya: any idea what that means for getting pregnant? My cnm acted like if there was a thyroid issue thats what was most likely causing our issues.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@jetsa: my CNM told me that your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) should be between 1-2 if you're TTC, and that since mine was 3.8 it was probably contributing to my short LP (9-ish days). We're on cycle 8 and I'm definitely ovulating (based on BBT and + OPKs) so between lowering my TSH and putting me on prometrium she thinks that will help.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Shutterbug: ahh okay that makes sense. I hope it works and you get your BFP soon!

@jetsa: When do you get your results?
I seem to have lost my favorite PMS symptom. This is the second month in a row that my breasts have not gotten bigger and sore after ovulation. I would trade cramps for giant sore breasts any day.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@alayaya: Monday or Tuesday I think, she did not really tell me just told me to call Monday and tell them to look for the results and then she would call me after she read them.
Also I have never had sore boobs nor do they get bigger though that is an awesome symptom and I can see why you miss it
pomelo / 5041 posts
@alayaya: Sore breasts are like a permanent symptom for me the entire TWW. I would kill not to have that symptom...unless for some reason it meant a baby. Then bring it on! HAHA
kiwi / 629 posts
@marionberry & @Grace: I don't mind the soreness because I have pretty small breasts so any increase in size always makes me feel awesome. Last month they didn't get sore and I was convinced that meant I was pregnant (I also had some spotting at 9dpo) but my period came one day late. This month they are also not sore so I don't know what to think...
@jetsa: Good luck! I hope you find some way to keep your mind off it until then. If it was me I would be making myself crazy wondering about the results
pomelo / 5041 posts
@alayaya: I know what you mean about symptom spotting. One month I had intense cramps on 9dpo that I've never had before, and I swore I was pregnant....but I wasn't. It sucked. We always try to make our symptoms or lack thereof mean something. I can't tell you how many times I've googled cervical mucus and pregnancy lol.
kiwi / 629 posts
@marionberry: Oh man I know!! I'm trying to cut back on the symptom spotting but I just can't help it. I'm trying to keep a little log of all my monthly symptoms so I can come back and compare, that way I know what is normal for me. It doesn't help when I have new symptoms or when symptoms go away though
pomelo / 5041 posts
@alayaya: I do that on Fertility Friend with my temp chart. It helps, but other than sore boobs, all of my other symptoms seem very random and don't last long. If some really odd symptom comes on though I'll probably think I'm pregnant again.

What does everyone do when people say its your turn or hopefully your next? I just do not feel like telling the world we are having issues but I also do not like saying we aren't trying either. I've just been saying hopefully soon to everyone who asks.
@alayaya: its horrible! I still do not have my results back, I called yesterday and the dr has them but hasn't had time to look at them and her nurse did not know when she would have time. =(
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@alayaya: My boobs get bigger also and I always giggle/grin to myself when they fill out my bra nicely. haha!
@jetsa: I usually just smile and give that awkward giggle and shrug it off. However, recently, depending on who it is, I've lost it and told them that we have been but had a loss a few months back then smile at them with a subliminal message, I hope you feel bad now! Mean I know, but I'm like, guys! I want this more than any of y'all so you think I'm happy I'm not KU already?!

i want to know too what are some good responses to ppl's questions. so far the best response i was able to give was when a church person that i'm not close with asked me (and not the first time..or second or third..) when i am having kids, i just said, "in God's timing." if you believe in God, you can't really respond back to that. but i have no response to give to non church people. anyone have any good responses?

Hey everyone! I guess it's about time I join this group. A quick history. I stopped BC at the beginning of the year. We started TTC in Feb of 2012, got pregnant in May, M/C in June, and here we are still trying. I think the most frustrating part is that it came so easy the first time. Even with just stopping BC, it only took 3 cycles. Now we're on cycle #5 post-m/c. Sorry for the vent. AF started today, and I'm a bit emotional
kiwi / 629 posts
@jetsa: Ugh That is so annoying! Still nothing?
@futuremama: Welcome. I also started trying back in Feb 2012. Sorry for your miscarriage, that must have been hard. I hope you have better luck next month.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@alayaya: Still nothing. I'm going crazy over here, like seriously you can't just look at it and call me. It makes me really doubt my dr. she's had the results in hand since monday!
@futuremama: Welcome! I am so sorry about your loss and that you are here but I hope we will all get our BFP soon!
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@alayaya: More than likely nothing before the weekend, also I would talk to your OB from what I've heard most will start running bloodtests before you are 1 year into trying.
So how long did it take everyone to get their blood test results back? I'm at a week and it appears it will be a while still and it is just so frustrating this was supposed to be the first step to finding out whats wrong and its been a huge pain. =(
kiwi / 629 posts
@jetsa: Ugh!! That is so frustrating. Thank you for the advice. We're going to wait for the year mark. I'm not interested in starting any tests or anything like that until I have fully given up hope. I must say I'm close though...
I got my AF last night, so on to cycle #11. That one year mark is getting closer and closer. I haven't even seen the hint of a second line in more than 9 months ttc.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@jetsa - Sorry to hear you're frustrated! My doctor ordered a LOT of blood tests (5 vials worth, yuck). I took them on Monday and got the results in the mail on Friday. So my OB probably got them to her office on Wednesday. Maybe call your doc on Monday?

@Mrs.Someone: @alayaya: The doctors nurse just got back to me. I am not ovulating so clomid it is. I've been using CBEFM for months and have wondered if it was accurate, this month it was not it said I ovulated (or at least had a surge of LSH) and I did not.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@jetsa: Glad to hear they finally got back to you sheesh! Bummer on you not ovulating, but at least you have an answer now. Hope clomid works this first go round to get you your BFP!
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@jetsa: Glad you finally got your test results! That's interesting about the monitor... I always thought it was really accurate - guess not always. How was your thyroid? You have a family history, right?
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Shutterbug: I was surprised about the monitor, I mean it only measures the LH surge so I guess I could have had that but not ovulated. I do have a family history of thyroid problems, and it came back low but not low enough to warrant any concern. We are going to recheck it when I go back for my end of cycle bloodwork.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@jetsa: I'm glad you got some answers. I thought the CBEFM was really accurate too, but I guess you're right, that surging without ovulating was possible. Glad to hear your thyroid wasn't too bad.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@marionberry: thanks, that is all I can assume on the monitor. Yea I'm hoping my thyroid stays down, I go again in just over 2 weeks to get it tested again.
kiwi / 629 posts
@jetsa: I'm glad you finally got your results and even a possible solution! That is great news. Sorry I haven't replied sooner, I've been away from the boards...
We've gone back to NTNP this cycle. I needed a break from all the drama and stress. It is totally impossible not to try though! I haven't checked my dates this month but I have such obvious ovulation cramps that it was hard not to notice it happening...
Hopefully we're one of those lucky couples who get pregnant after they stop "trying". LOL
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@alayaya: You had said in a prior post that you were planning to do that so I figured thats what happened. I agree its so hard to not try even when you are NTNP. We used CBEFM from July-April and were supposed to be NTNP but when you know ovulation you are just kind of kidding yourself. I really hope you get your BFP this month
