The theme for the 6th wedding anniversary is candy/iron. Apart from making DH his favorite dessert(s), what else is a good "sugar" or iron gift??? He's not a golfer.

My fil is a grill maniac and we got him a branding iron with his initials from etsy. He loved it!
Eta: does he like to cook? Maybe a cast iron pan?

Also, I think the "modern" gift is wood so that might add to your options.

There are some cute options on Etsy in addition to what was already mentioned:

@peaches1038: He does enjoy cooking, but we already have a cast iron pan (we love it btw!).
@NorCalWayfarer: Wood was the traditional 5th anniversary theme so we did that last year.

How about a waffle iron? Or some workout gear or a gym membership for "pumping iron"?
Sugar definitely seems like the more versatile theme!

@Alivoo01: just one?! There's never enough cast iron! What about a le creuset pan or Dutch oven? There's lots of different options and so versatile. Expensive, but worth it.

What about going for drinks and dessert at a really nice/fancy place you normally wouldn't? Kind of "sugar' themed!
Second the idea of another cast iron pan - we have 3 and all get used regurally! You could get one in a different size, too so it wasn't so much a duplicate.

I went the nerdy route and got DH a t-shirt with the sigil and words of his favorite Game of Thrones house: Greyjoy, of the *Iron* Islands. He loved it. (I also got him some really nice scotch).
DH went with the "modern" gift, and got me some really awesome Hawaiian pressed-wood earrings and some fancy wooden sunglasses. And some sparkly flats I'd had my eye on.
