Don't add me to a poas list, but looks like we've sort of crossed over into NTNP this month after all. DH basically pulled the goalie last night. I'm pretty sure it was mostly just because it felt good and he didn't want to stop, but the fact that I had a total meltdown the other night probably contributed. It's early enough that if I have a normal cycle there's really no chance anything will come of it unless it happens again. But my last two cycles were 3 weeks and 5 weeks respectively, so if I were to O early and have another short one we'd be in the running. It would mean having to reschedule our cruise, so I won't be upset if nothing comes of it this month, but it's so nice to be able to feel a little hopeful too (and my exclamation point key won't work again. This has happened before, dumb computer)

    @mrsjyw @travellingbee @raspberries:
Thanks ladies, it really had me freaked out a bit so I appreciate you tolerating my rant! It’s stopped today *knocking on wood* so I think you’re right that it was from the pap. AF is not due till tomorrow anyway, so just have to wait. I did test this morning at 11dpo but nothing. Very best case, it was IB and I need to wait a few more days. I’m fine with holding on to that glimmer of hope! We’ll see what happens.

@misslace: FX for you, gal. I have a leftover wondfo OPK, I’m tempted to use it now!

@jennyg I am so sorry to hear that. Hang in there and don’t lose hope, it will happen for you.

so i just had my appointment with a new doctor. it was considered a pre-conception visit even though this is our 4th month trying. I really liked her but she didn't tell me anything i didn't already know. She said they won't do anything until after we've been trying for a year even though i have a short luteal phase of 7-9 days (with the exception of this month, 12 days and going strong!). She just said i'm already doing everything i can with the B6, vitex, progesterone oil, opks, temping, etc. She did say that i probably wouldn't get a BFP until sunday at the earliest (14dpo) but i'm really hoping for one tomorrow since making it to 12dpo in the first place is unheard of for me. She also said the super dark opk this morning doesn't mean anything. So at least i'm still in the game for now, ill POAS again tomorrow and let you know any updates.

@misslace my doc said the same thing on Monday - we're doing all we can and to wait the year (we're on cycle 7). Made me feel a bit better and put it into perspective. When do you take b6, vitex and progesterone oil and what do they do? Just curious, all I do is temp and OPKs so I'm wondering what else could possibly help. Also, why did she said to wait until 14dpo when you have a short LP normally? So many questions! I'm also testing on Sunday if I make it that far, it will be 13dpo which is the longest I've gone. Keep us updated and fingers crossed so tight for us both!

@YogiRunner: All of it is to help regulate hormones and extend your luteal phase. i've been taking the supplements for 3 cycles now. I always have 31 day cycles and O pretty late. Here's my breakdown:

The first cycle using them i took 500mg of vitex from CD1-Ovulation (CD24 for me) then once i O'd, i stopped the vitex and swapped it out for 100mg B6 from O-AF. I also take 1000mg vitamin C everyday which is supposed to help with progesterone production. That cycle it didn't make any difference (they say it needs a few months to build up in your system) and i still O'd on CD24 leaving me with a 7 day LP.

Second cycle taking them, i took the B6, vitex and vitamin C every day for the entire cycle and ended up O'ing on CD22. I also added 20mg of progesterone oil that i rub on my skin in the morning and again at night (so 40mg total) from the day my temp spiked until AF, tacking an extra 2 days onto my LP making it 9 days.

This cycle, i took the same vit C, upped the dose to 200mg on the B6, and added 100mg of B12 (because b-vitamins work better together) and took everything every day, and i ended up O'ing on CD 19! I also used the progesterone oil from O day on. i am currently 12dpo and going strong!

Also i use magnesium spray on my skin every do or two, which supposedly has a bunch of benefits. I am like the queen of home remedies when doctors say to "Wait it out" haha

oh and to (kind of) answer your question about why she said to wait until 14dpo when i have a short LP normally, she just said for anyone it probably wouldn't show up until then, if i had gotten AF already (like i usually do) then i would know i was out before i even had a chance so that was just a general answer she gave me.

    Fingers SUPER crossed for us!!

Can you move my POAS date to Nov 10th? That is around when AF due and I would rather wait until then, because so far I have POAS at 8 and 9 DPO and am sick of seeing BFNs.

I'm also crazy emotional, crying over everything, and having mild cramping, so I'm totally expecting AF to show soon.

Also, the past 3 nights I've been falling asleep at 8:30/9. This never happens, I normally don't fall asleep until
    11. That's what prompted me to test last time with my DS when I fell asleep in a movie theatre (lol). But I'm really trying not to get my hopes up, because I know all these symptoms can just be due to progesterone. Or the dreaded witch coming.

Decided to test again tonight at 9dpo on a whim and it was positive! It's pretty light but I'm hoping and praying that it darkens more this weekend!!!

I'm also 9 dpo, have been pretty tired and started feeling nauseous today. But AF isn't due til next Thursday so I'm trying to wait a while longer to test.

Congrats to all those with positive tests! This is fun watching others get good results. I'm at 14 dpo today, cd 28. According to my app on my phone, AF was due today. That would be a pretty short cycle for me though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up tomorrow or the next day. After two poorly timed (not fmu) tests on days 9 and 10, both BFN, I decided not to test anymore until AF is officially late. The fear of getting a positive and then having a CP was enough to keep my resolve strong. So now here I am, trying to decide if the weird stomach feeling I've had all week is just in my head or if it's actually something, and if the tugging I feel lower is pre AF cramps or something else. It's driving me crazy but I'm pretty set on waiting to POAS until at least Monday. My cycles are pretty regular, so if the weekend comes and goes without AF, I will be more convinced that something is up. Yikes!

    Thanks @simplyfelicity
Still no AF this morning and my temp is still high. Usually it drops the morning of the day AF shows up. I'm still trying not to get my hopes up, knowing how unlikely it would be to work on the first try, especially with home AI. But it's getting harder and harder not to think "what if..." Good thing I have lots going on this weekend to keep me busy!

@NurseDMB: That's just what my BFP looked like at 9 DPO!

Big hugs to everyone feeling burned out on TTC. I totally understand that feeling, 100%. If I hadn't gotten a BFP this past cycle we were going to take a break for a month or two. It was really getting me down, and was hurting our BD relationship a lot. It gets so hard and the fun totally wears off as the months start adding up.

Thank you all so much for making me feel better

@NurseDMB: He's only 9 month... But he tends to be attached to my boob 24/7 when he's teething... I'm already scared of the molars...
    and congrats!!

@littleblessings: I got AF back after 6 month, too. In that time he started to nurse less during the day because he likes solids so much. But then I got sick and they gave me strong meds in the hospital so I had to pump and dump for a week and I ran out of frozen milk... so DS got some formula which he hated... really hated. He screamed for hours every. single. time. before he finally gave up and drank the bottle... That was so hard. So when the meds were out of my system and I could breastfeed again he was so happy and he nursed almost every 3-4 hours during the day and night, almost like a newborn...
I thought about that, too, and I won't stop breastfeeding until DS is ready and wants to stop. But we really want another one as soon as possible...
I tried taking an hour out of my day... but it just didn't work

@raspberries: I'm already better today. But sometimes it's just so. darn. hard

@mrsjyw: @travellingbee: Thanks! It feels so good to know I'm not alone

Well, I'm out. AF arrived this afternoon with spotting. Oh well. I figured it couldn't possibly happen on the first try. Assuming I'll be trying again next month but need to coordinate with our donor first.

@littleblessings: SO true! We had a bit of a frustrating fertile week over here, between DH being sick and a super demanding work week for both of us...complete with 24hrs of on-call time for me and 72 hrs round the clock on-call time for DH (with four more round the clock call days to go for him!)...we just didn't get in the BD we had both hoped.

We sure made an effort, and we both talked about how our chances are lower this month because it just didn't work out, we both were disappointed and a bit frustrated and then we said...well, good thing we get a whole fresh set of chances next month! And that is exactly right! DH looked at me a little after that convo and grinned and said "We really do make a great team!" And then we went and had lunch at this restaurant we've tried to go to FOUR times and never had less than 2 hr wait...and we got a table! We had a nice relaxed lunch and then went to look for Christmas decorations.

It can be so easy to get sucked into the mindset of getting pregnant is all that matters, and I'm sure it's harder for people who have had losses/long TTC, but it's so important to keep your relationship first. After all, once you make that baby...it's up to the two of you to make a life with that baby! For many this is a marathon, not a sprint.
