I used to really dislike it, but I spent some time customizing which emails were sorted into which tabs. And now it's really helpful in cutting down on my email clutter!
This was a rare new software feature that I have reversed opinions on. I officially endorse this feature as a big productivity saver! Still don't like the names of the tabs though.
If you didn't turn them off already... how have you been liking Google's tabbed inbox?

I use my phone for email/web stuff about 99% of the time, so I haven't actually noticed the changes!

Still not a fan. I gave it a chance but I think I prefer being able to see all my emails at once. I don't get a whole lot, though...if I had a really busy inbox I bet it'd be really helpful.

I don't like it. I still have to look at everything to decide whether to read or delete, so now it just means having to click through tabs to do so. I don't see how it helps me, personally.

I was so-so in the beginning but now I am a fan. I usually leave the gmail tab open when I am working from home and I appreciate that the number on the tab only indicates the number of emails in my priority inbox. There had been times where I was waiting for something important to come through and I clicked over many times only to be greeted by promotional emails.

I don't mind it! I never read the "promotional" emails now though, so that probably sucks for those companies if a lot of people are now ignoring!

@Mrs. Champagne: it does! I've noticed a lot of my promotional emails have something along the lines of "hey gmail users, don't miss your emails, add us to your priority box, etc etc"

i was kind of eh when it came out but i left it on... i've gotten used to it now and i like being able to delete fb and promotional ads all at once. or save them to read later without cluttering up my main inbox. i don't love how evites seem to end up in social though, which makes sense, but they are pretty important! i always move them back over

@tysonja: if you move a few over, it should learn and move them automatically for you! That's the theory at least...

I hated it at first because I don't do well with change. However, I always come around. I don't mind it at all!

I turned it off shortly after it came out because the way I had my gmail setup was to have the starred items up top, and the rest of my emails on the bottom.
With the tabs, I have to dig through stuff to find my starred items. I wish they had a tab just for starred items!

I do only b/c it's helped me spend less time and money on those deal sites! LOL! I get SO many of those emails it inundates my inbox daily and I have to read around those to get to important ones.

Love that it keeps my important emails separate from the constant junk!! I like to keep my inbox count as low as possible at all times, Big fan...

@mrbee: i turned it on after you started this thread, and the starred items do show up in the "primary" inbox, but it's interspersed with allll my other emails, instead of all lumped together in one section like how i like it. so i turned it back off again. maybe i should write a suggestion to the gmail team...

I'm not a big fan, but it hasn't bothered me enough to turn it off. I do a lot of email checking on my phone, anyway.
