@whatsarahsaid: I just know I felt a lot better after talking to my dr. I think the uncertainty of not knowing what was going on was stressful. Fingers crossed you find some time!

@littlek: even though it was highly unlikely you were experiencing early menopause, it must be so reassuring to hear that you have plenty of eggs!

@sandy: Google is evil.. Every time I typed in my cycle menopause websites came up

Hey there December POAS-ers! September POAS mom here. I have a question on behalf of a friend of mine. She got her IUD removed in October and had a super long cycle but finally ovulated, and now is scared to drink over Christmas and New Years. Are any of you all abstaining from drinking over the holidays if you haven't tested yet? I told her my philosophy has always been drink til it's pink, but then I googled it and it seems like a lot of people are saying you need to stop drinking as of ovulation.

@whodat: I'm in the drink till it's pink camp. I don't think it does any harm that early on.
pomelo / 5607 posts
@whodat: I wouldn't go out and get hammered, but even if she were to turn out to be pregnant, the baby wouldn't be drawing directly from her initially. My mom actually DID get super hammered before she found out about me, and the doctor said there was nothing to worry about. (I was an oops birth control baby!)

@whodat: I tend to refrain from drinking in the very end of the TWW. Mostly the second week, give or take. DH gets all nervous (regardless of what I've told him!) so I just avoid alcohol.

You girls are making me crazy I think! I'm on CD9. Literally, AF just stopped the other day. I usually don't O until CD19-21. I have creamy CM which turns to watery-ish pre-O. Well, today I feel like it's watery. And I know it can't be but yet I'm getting all skeptical. See? Crazy!

@LindsayInNY: this cycle I had EWCM on CD9-11, then was bone dry until CD16.. When my surge was confirmed! Now I feel like a geyser. So unusual for me.

You guys, having this TWW coincide with the wait for the holiday break is killing me. I cannot believe how slowly this (hectic, busy, crazy) work week is going. Can it just be this weekend and time to relax and eat cookies with family ... and POAS... already?
[ETA] CONGRATS @mrs 64!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Haha to the "geyser" reference! Fingers crossed for you in the TWW

@mrs. 64: holy crizap!!!! So so so happy for you doll!!! Congrats and a sticky and happy 8 months to you.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I know it's essentially impossible that I'm Oing now. Maybe I'm a little over in tune with my CM for some reason? (Yum)

@LindsayInNY: Omg, the "yum" just made me die laughing. Thanks for that.

@mrs. 64 congrats!!! So happy to have another on the thread!!
Okay ladies, I have a question. All my OPKs have been negative thus far and if you read my last post, you'll see I'm supposed to take Provera to trigger my period and try another round of Clomid. So I POAS just for a little lookie loo and got this: *WARNING THIS IS AN OPK*
This happened a few cycles ago where I got positive OPKs when I started taking Provera, but 5 days after stopping I got my period as I normally do when I take it. Has anyone ever had this happen? Can Provera mimic a LH surge on an OPK? Should I stop taking the Provera? HB solve all my life problems!!!
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@Mrs.Panda: I definitely have no real answers but Dr Google showed a lot of people with this question, which makes me think maybe it is somehow connected? Provera definitely raises temps but I don't know what it has to do with LH
further Dr Googling seems to suggest the Provera causes some to ovulate? again, I really have no idea . . .

@PawPrints: I am hating this TWW over the holiday season. What CD are you? I'm trying to distract myself but its tough. I have zero symptoms!
pomegranate / 3658 posts
@MrsMcD: I am CD24, 7 DPO. Zero symptoms here too, though it's probably too early anyway!
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@PawPrints: Eep! I'm CD21 and 8dpo. I saw that you plan to test on the 23rd. Are you still sticking to that date?

@Mrs.Panda: LOL, I love your disclaimer. I was about to go get all excited on you.

@whodat: personally I am in the drink till it's pink camp too. Knowing the biology of it all i just can't see how it would harm the baby that early AND it would drive me mental if I had spent half of the last 5 months f my life not drinking with no baby to show for it! At least I know despite not being ku that I haven't missed out on doing anything I normally would have
pomegranate / 3658 posts
@MrsMcD: Ummm we'll see. I have a feeling I'm going to end up testing earlier than that but I'll try to hold out. It's only our second cycle TTC so I don't know how disappointed I'd be to see a BFN if we test early. Are you holding out until 14 DPO?
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@whodat: I'm drinking a hard cider right now at 7dpo. It's month 2. I guess that means I'm drink till its pink camp?
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@whodat: I'm also in the drink til it's pink camp...I mean don't get completely wasted but I'll definitely have a few drinks during the TWW. When I was pregnant with LO I thought it was highly unlikely I was pregnant bc we only BD once during my fertile window and I was just super sick the entire month...so I took some sudafed. Then I got a BFP and I was all worried about the sudafed...my OB said it was totally fine bc the baby was dependent on the sac and not the nutrients I was passing along to it yet. My LO has 25 months and she's fine
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@dc yoga bee: I had a drink the night before my BFP you're good for little while, even after it's pink...I had to start thinking about how many drinks I was missing out on for half of every month lol!
nectarine / 2358 posts
@LovelyPlum: Haha I figured I would have to talk some people off the ledge. Everyone gets a little nutty when two lines are involved, myself included.
OPKs make me confused and sad.

I have a quesion!!! I am stressing out a little... hoping we havent missed the egg!
I took this opk today, this morning (I work nights) and it looks ALMOST positive. I took another one this afternoon that looks the same. And then yet another one a little later that was a little lighter. I have had a tiny bit of cramping on my left side and other than that, my temps havent gone up or anything... in fact, a .03 dip today.
We bd last night and didnt have a chance to today before I left for work but we will tomorrow night.
Do you all think that I possibly ovulated already since the test got lighter this afternoon or that I mighr have just missed my surge and I am about to ovulate tonight? Will bd tomorrow night (cd14) be worth a shot? We were going to today and just didnt have time. I am so afraid we missed it.
pomelo / 5326 posts
@fotolori1: you could O tonight or tomorrow so BD tomorrow is totally worth it. I always O'd 48 hours after my test was darkest. You already have a chance from BD last night too! GL!
pomelo / 5607 posts
@fotolori1: I'd say you need to do some BDing! It certainly can't hurt, and you might be right that you missed the surge but O is starting!
