@Crystal: I was slightly scared I was going to have to go to the ER before the new insurance is effective. But, DH bought me saltines, pepto, ginger ale, fresh french bread toast, powerade, and chicken noodle soup. He also thought it would be nice to bring me frozen mac n cheese, broccoli and chicken alfredo, and bacon potatoes. Oh boys! Clearly I won't be eating that frozen stuff, I think he bought it for himself!I had a slice of toasted french bread, saltines, and I'm nursing some ginger ale. I feel much much better thank you!! I don't know why I got so sick so sudden!

@Weagle: The joke at the dinner table with my sister is that she conceived while living with my parents. She always goes beet red and says "I WAS ASLEEP! HE DID IT ALL!"
We'll never let her live it down but of course the parents don't care
CONGRATS! (I"m just going to live vicariously through you)

@Weagle: Finally yay!!!! I was going to wall you and ask if you had POAS!
@Brawly: Do you mean CD 13? Or are you 13DPO? When should I make your POAS date? Yay for earlyish O! haha
@dc yoga bee: I hope you're feeling better! That is the absolute worst to go through those problems so suddenly. I had that happen recently and it's unfortunately something that happens about once or so a year. I will suddenly fall very ill, I will burp and they will be GROSS like, sulfur smelling, and things are coming out of both ends. Sorry haha. DH calls it "Egg". Like, "Are you okay? Do you have egg again?". What.

Morning everyone! Since we don't have any POAS arranged today let's start talking about our impending motherhood (haha). Does anyone else already have a baby registry? Or look at baby gear they like? I have narrowed the strollers down to some that I like and have also looked into cribs, monitors, carriers, you name it. Do you have a room already dedicated to baby? We have a bedroom that is currently the home to some storage items, but that will be our sweet baby's room one day! Please tell me I'm not alone!

@Mrs.Panda: well since we already have one LO we have most of the basics and I've started a list of things we will need to buy (second monitor, crib, sound machine, new stroller). If we have a boy we won't need anything as far as clothes but if we have a girl we will. We haven't figured out the room situation yet so that is something we will have to do. Otherwise, I feel pretty prepared this time around. It's a little easier because I feel like I was just pregnant with LO and the baby stage wasn't too long ago.

@Mrs.Panda: we will probably get another monitor and maybe clothes based on gender. We pretty much have most of the basics. I want a different stroller though.

@Weagle: congrats! Too funny about your parents. I bet they'll do the math, should be easy to figure out this was a Christmas Holiday baby!

I'm alive! Thank you for the get better wishes Man, that was so scary. I've never had that happen before! Now I'm really thirsty, and since I hardly had anything last night I'm guzzling powerade. At only 2DPO, I know it was probably just a bug. But, that doesn't mean I didn't consult Dr. Google to inquire whether it's an early pregnancy symptom!
As far as impending motherhood, I've never even changed a diaper. So, I need it all. I will rely on my mother's advice and hellobee like nobody's business. I want to cloth diaper, DH refuses to put poopy diapers in our washing machine. I told him babies will poop in their clothes sometimes and throw up on themselves, and those are going in the washing machine soooo..... I was looking up strollers before we started ttc, and I really like the bugaboo. Of course, we would have to go test them all out. Now, I don't look at anything baby related, I just want to make the baby first! Then I will have 9 months to plan plan plan! I don't have a baby registry yet. I do have a private Amazon Wishlist titled "Pregnancy Essentials." It has some Tracy Anderson Pregnancy Fitness DVDS, one of those pregnancy pillows people rave about, and different stretch mark creams. I would like to focus on adding to it things *I* may need.
ETA: As far as rooms go, we're in a really expensive 1BR apartment 4mi outside of DC. Our lease is coming up due. We're hoping for a BFP soon, so we can go ahead and decide whether to upgrade to the 2BR now or not. We don't want to spend $2500+ on a 2BR without a LO cooking yet! We plan to buy next year anyways, so we may stay in the 1BR and make it work.

@Weagle: CONGRATULATIONS!!! Agh, SO excited for you! And thank you so much for giving this group some much-needed good news!
@dc yoga bee: I am so glad to hear you are feeling better. The stomach flu is definitely going around these parts.
As for baby goods, we are in pretty good shape, but not as good as you'd expect. We got almost all of our baby gear from some friends with two kids. Well, surprise! She's due with #3 in August, so they'll need a bunch of stuff back. I figure it gives me the opportunity to get the stuff I really want (I.e., Beco Gemini v the Ergo we borrowed). We went into this game knowing we wanted 2u2, so we bought a stroller that could convert to a double when DD was born (Britax B-Ready, which I LOVE). I love baby gear shopping, so if anyone needs any advice, give me a shout.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@dc yoga bee: I *really* wanted to CD but DH was not having it. I even made a 30+-slide Power Point presentation to convince him (let me know if you need that!). At the end of the day, I am glad we don't CD, but only because doing laundry is really hard in our house - the washing machine is on the other side of the wall from DD's crib, so we can't run it while she is asleep.

@septca: I went to a baby store for the first time to buy a baby shower gift for my barre teacher. Buy Buy Baby. Oh.M.Gee. Overwhelmed is the only word I can use to describe that place. Even with her registry in hand. My mom was with me, and I just couldn't handle it. AND it smelled funny in there!!! We left and went to Target. I hope whenever we conceive I'll have a better experience at Babies R Us. Although, they may be just as chaotic!

@septca: A powerpoint presentation!?! I LOVE it! I'm hoping I can convince him, but that's the only thing he's adamant about. Oh, and no Team Green. But, he will not win that one. My body, my decision! I looked at the honest diapers, and those seem *better* for the environment, so I may compromise and try those.

@Weagle: Congratulations! I am so happy for you!
I am going to jump back into the fray again, this cycle that just ended was a doozy for me but I am hopeful about cycle 5! Cycle 6 will almost guaranteed be a bust because of travel for work so we are pulling out all the stops this month and I have a Dr.'s appointment mid February so we can at least get a preliminary idea if something isn't quite right.
Baby gear... I have been so lucky in this area, a friend gave me her crib and another friend gave me probably 8 trash bags full of clothes (mostly girls but plenty of neutral things for the early months) as well as quite a bit of gear, blankets, sheets etc. I totally have a private Amazon list too, I wanted to keep track of what else I would need so that seemed like the best place to do it.
I want to cloth diaper too, my plan is to do a trial from Jillian's Drawers and see what we like after the baby arrives and then start gathering a stash. I have a feeling we will do a part time type of thing though with disposables at night or while traveling.
I have been a nanny for a long time and it is funny that I have inadvertently normalized certain things for my dh even if they are sort of crunchy, fringe practices. He seems to think most people practice some form of elimination communication because we stayed with a family member who did. Co-sleeping seems normal to him, baby led weaning, extended breastfeeding all do too. It cracks me up when he comes home and is bewildered by something a coworker does because it is so far from how I do things. He has been advised though not to comment on other people's parenting practices- even when they freely admit their kid gets chocolate milk and a cookie from Starbucks for breakfast daily (and yes we actually know a family who does this).

If I test "early and often" @septca: I can probably try on the 31st! I will only be 8 dpo but that other thread gave me hope it is possible!

@mrs. bird: @delight: @Mrs. Confetti: @septca: @Cole: Thanks guys!
As far as baby stuff, we're kind of set. This is #2, and if it's a girl she already has more clothes than she could ever wear. We don't have any gender neutral stuff. We borrowed a swing, bouncer, etc when LO was little so I would like to buy a RnP or another safe portable place to put the babe.
