@MrsMccarthy: Are you testing using OPKs or anything?
@littlek: LOL @ husbands money
I am also going to test early and often next cycle. Probably starting at O + 1, lol
My wondfos came in today! I am very excited! Any tips for a new user?

@littlek: I'm sorry but your positive attitude is encouraging!!! Really hoping February is good to you
@boopers: I'm sorry you've had such a long journey. Hugs and big hopes that next month is your month!
@septca: lol just for you I will start testing at 10 dpo - I know it's not very early but I just blow through my tests too quickly and after many months it's getting pricey

I can't believe we're a third of the way through the month and have no BFPs yet.

I am so glad to see that I have corrupted so many on this board to the "early and often" camp. Woo Hoo - get after it, ladies!!

I just realized I have my poas date for like 17dpo. Someone cannot count.and that someone is me. Yall are making me get the itch to buy some test. 10dpo is next weekend! I just don't like buying tests!
@Adira: Geez, I hadn't even realized that. I bet they're going to come in waves. And if not, at least we have each other lol!

@Adira: i know i check on ya'll every morning as part of HB routine! can't believe it!

For those of you going "early and often," I started a new thread to provide you some inspiration:
http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/whats-the-earliest-youve-seen-a-bfp
And, yes, I know I am a terrible influence.

@septca: I'm surprised how many positive 8 DPO there are, that seems very early.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Mrs.Panda: I actually will get a second chance this month.. I can POAS 1/31..
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@littlek: I agree - likely way too early. But implantation can happen anytime after around 5 DPO, and I got my first BFP the day after implant (I assume, since my beta was only a 7 and anything less than 5 is negative).

Well, ladies, I finally broke down and purcahsed some Wondfos.
http://www.amazon.com/Combo-Ovulation-Pregnancy-Test-Strips/dp/B0026995KO
$22 for 50 OPK and 20 HCG? No shipping, because I have student prime? Seemed like a steal.
I just really want to know what my body is up to. I had a little ovarian cramping yesterday, with a touch of anxiety and then I woke up at 3:30 AM last night. My hormones are shifting. I wonder if this is how my body responds to the estrogen spike. CD10 today.
And I might get this glass thermometer, because the beeping of a digital one wakes up DH: http://www.fairhavenhealth.com/glass-basal.html

@septca: You're making me nuts! I want to test but I know the progesterone throws everything off. Gah!
bananas / 9229 posts
@HolisticMama: Yikes, that thermometer would be tough to read! My beeps but once I hear the first beep, I quickly shove it until my pillow to quiet it.

Y'all I have fallen ill. I'm only 2DPO, so I know it's not a pg symptom, but *TMI* lets just say I barely made it off the train and to my bathroom.. I was shaking, and it's bad. I called my insurance because HR said new insurance is effective 1/01/14, but bcbs said naw it's effective on 1/12/14. So, I can't even go to urgent care until Sunday. Praying this just passes. I don't know if it's food poisoning or what, but we had a pot roast in the crock pot for dinner, and I brought a can of kettle style tomato soup for lunch today. I tried looking up what was safe in the tww, but at the time I didn't give a *****, I was drinking pepto from the bottle, and when that didn't work I popped two imodium. That is the only thing that has settled me so far. Also, while eating my soup this afternoon, I became really hot. I was sweating by the end of the bowl! And it's like 28 degrees outside, and maybe 40 degrees in the office, so I know it wasn't just a hot environment. I must've picked up a bug from somewhere. Gah!
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@HolisticMama: I just ordered those and received them today!
I don't know how about the waiting 5 mins thing.... Do you all find that necessary? Or is it pretty immediate? Does it change?
@littlek: I was just figuring out if I could test again this month!
If I follow @septca method, I'll be at 8DPO on 1/28, so I might start testing then...

@dc yoga bee: OH NO!!!
Can you send someone out for some coconut water? You will want to try to stay hydrated.
pear / 1846 posts
@dc yoga bee: aww poor you! If you have a fever take 1g of paracetemol (think you call that Tylenol) every 4 hrs max 4g in 24hr, it's great at bringing temps down and is safe for pregnancy. Keep hydrated and get lots of cuddles. Hope you feel better soon.
@crystal: I find that a blaring positive will show up pretty quickly as 'ooh there is something there' but yeah they do get darker over time which might give you warning if you have a fade in pattern like I do.
@holisticmama: would having to put the light on to read the thermometer not wake him up aswell?
persimmon / 1167 posts
@Snowdrop: Good point. Probably not, but I would have look into it. LOL. Hehe....
This is why I have smart friends.
I must just do OPKs. In the later part of my cycle, I can't seem to get three hours of uninterrupted sleep before I wake.
pear / 1846 posts
@HolisticMama: I used to have that! The last few days of my cycle I'd have vivid dreams, hot flashes and keep waking, I used to know my period was coming the day after I didn't have any dreams. Now that I'm obsessed with TTC I know it was progesterone and then the lack of dreams was my hormones dropping. I don't get that anymore though, maybe because I have low progesterone...?
persimmon / 1167 posts
@Snowdrop: Yeah. I laid there for at least an hour trying to figure out what my hormones were doing and what supplements or something I could take to help me sleep.
Seriously...Every night until AF I will wake around 3-4 AM. I am going to keep a closer eye on it this cycle.
Have you done primrose oil for progesterone? I'm taking a flax/primrose oil blend all cycle, but I'm not sure if I want to continue.
coconut / 8498 posts
Ok guys. It is with extreme cautious optimism and excitement that I share this....
I'm 1) a bit in disbelief and 2)praying that our parents don't do the math and realize this child was conceived at one of their houses.
I'll continue to POAS in the next few days in case it's a fluke.
pear / 1846 posts
@HolisticMama: I used to take primrose oil but I now know I have a low progesterone:oestrogen ratio so I am avoiding oestrogenic stuff. EPO is oestrogenic. That doesn't mean it's wrong for everyone obviously but I don't think it would be good for me.
Really love all these natural options but experience has taught me that they are actually really potent and not a cure all solution. I think that is why when you google stuff you get all the (fill the blank) ruined my cycle it's evil, do not take it... Yeah you just used the wrong thing!
pomelo / 5607 posts
@Weagle: That is no fluke, that's a line! Hooray!! Congratulations!
Now let's hope that this is just the start of a great bfp month!
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@Weagle: woooo! congrats! You should win a door prize for first 2014 BFP
honeydew / 7295 posts
@Crystal: I'm using the Clear Blue Easy Fertility monitor. It tracks estrogen and LH but I will also probably use some of my wondfos to make sure they correlate with the data since my CM has been a bit confusing.
@cmbknyc: thank you honey. You too!
@littlek: yay! POAS twins!
@HolisticMama: I got a glass thermometer for the same reason and never used it because its just so hard to read the damn thing. Plus it's so dark in the morning.
@dc yoga bee: feel better honey. I hope it's a good sign for you.
@Weagle: OMG!!! YES!!!! You broke in our thread. Congratulations honey and I'm wishin you a happy and healthy little September bundle of love.
pomelo / 5720 posts
@Weagle: woohoo! This is such great news
Still no on the OPKs but I guess that could mean I missed it when I tested. I'm terrible about holding it until I test so that may have skewed it a bit. I'm just going to see how it goes this month and then plan a little differently next month in I have to. FX for everyone still yet to test and for those who will be testing in Feb!

Hi ladies! Congrats to the first BFP!!
I have been reading but not active this last week. First week back at school since the break! Crazy!! We are heading into ovulation week, started using opk's this morning. I have been having some neck issues so taking Tylenol. Is that better then Advil?!?!? Do either of them have any side affects for TTC!?!?! ( super clueless first timer!!)
honeydew / 7295 posts
@bushelandapeck: are you gonna keep at it till you can confirm something?
Am I the only one on here who promises herself little things if I get AF as a sort of consolation prize. For this month I have decided that if I don't get KU I am going to insist on a boozy girls time out. I also get a venti Starbucks drink and eggs Benedict. An I alone?
pear / 1846 posts
@MrsScottish: yes do not take advil, it is an anti-inflammatory and will mess things up if you take enough of it. A strong prescribed anti-inflammatory has messed my cycle up this month. Tylenol is fine to take during pregnancy.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Weagle: I'm SO SO happy for you! I was having a crappy day and seeing this cheered me up!!!!
pomelo / 5720 posts
@littlek: I'm sorry your out this time but I'm living your outlook and hope I can be the same way if I don't see a BFP this month.
@MrsMccarthy: I don't know...kinda seems pointless if my cycles are their typical 28-30 days. I'll do it for another day or two but I'm thinking it happened earlier this week. I was having O like pains on m/T but I didn't start using the opks until Sunday so I could've missed it. Either way, we DTD in/around the two possible O dates. I'll plan to test like usual and see what happens I'll be busting out the CBEFM next month if this doesn't work.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@Weagle: Yay, congratulations!! So happy for your good news. Happy & Healthy 9 Months!

@dc yoga bee: I didn't even see this! You poor thing!!! Did the pepto help? That's sounds miserable. =(
