@Crystal: ditto @Weagle! My best friend suffered a miscarriage in Sept/October. She never got her period again and went to the doc to figure out why. She was pregnant! It didn't even occur to her that she might ovulate right after her MC like a normal cycle.
AND they had only gotten pregnant the first time from an IUI cycle. They had been trying for a year.
So one year, one IUI and one MC after starting TTC, she's now 12 weeks with a natural pregnancy. Crazy stuff happens!
Good luck with everything!

@mfa_lady: I hope AF comes for you soon! I had a MMC in November and just got AF for the first time on Christmas (7 weeks later).
Estimated O Date: 1/11 ish
POAS/AF date: 1/24
Cycle #: #1 following a miscarriage in November.
Chart link: n/a
Trying new this cycle: Trying not to stress if it doesn't happen right away this time and just enjoy the extra time with LO before we have another LO.
What are your New Year’s resolutions? Get back into exercising, be more patient with DH and LO, be more flexible.

@bushelandapeck: Thank you, friend! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one - now that it's been a couple of days, I actually think whatever is happening right now IS a visit from AF....just a much stranger version of it than I ever had pre-MC. I'm looking forward to getting back to normal soon. Fingers crossed for you this month!!
pomelo / 5720 posts
@Crystal: We also used the CBEFM with LO and were pregnant on the first try. I think it really helps take some of the stress out of TTC. I didn't use it last time I got pregnant but I will consider breaking it out again if we don't get pregnant within month or two.
pomelo / 5720 posts
@mfa_lady: That's great news! I had some weird symptoms the month before I got AF and thought I even ovulated but I'm sure I didn't. Do you think you will try this month or wait one more cycle? I am not sure if I am technically supposed to wait one more cycle since this is the first "normal" one since mc but I didn't have a D&C so I'm going to give it a try anyway.

I don't even know how to interpret my chart this month. sleeping has been off. My temp dropped HUGE today, which can mean a few things....I O'd around CD8/9 which is super early and it's implantation? I O'd around 14-16 like usual and my body is F'd? I didn't O at all? LOL
I hate this shiz.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@bushelandapeck: I had the weirdest symptoms, too! It was almost like pregnancy symptoms + AF symptoms, in no particular order, for weeks before AF came. My midwife actually told me that I didn't have to wait until AF to try, if we really wanted to. BUT, I had my MMC in early October and waited for it to happen naturally...and it literally took 11 weeks from the first day of bleeding for me to get a negative test (didn't get a negative until AF came). My HCG dropped more slowly than my midwife said she'd ever seen before. She was like "Yeah, I mean, your body has had the time it needs." So...I'd say you're good to try now! I don't chart or anything, so I'd say we'll be doing more of a NTNP method this month, and then be a little more intentional after that.

Good morning everyone! I hope your weekend was great (or if you had to work like me, it was tolerable!) and that you're ready to start this week with the wonderful reminder that *sigh* you most likely get at least one day off extra! Unless your job isn't like that haha, then I don't know what to tell you.
Does anyone have any fun New Years Eve plans?
We are hosting a VERY small get together (like, 2 other couples) at our house to BBQ and play some board games because we party hard like that. One couple has a LO that they couldn't find a sitter for so we decided to keep it low key. How about you guys?
nectarine / 2358 posts
@babycanuck: For real this ish is for the birds... lol. Did you sleep with your mouth open or anything? And if you temp vaginally umm... nevermind. Haha. Did you not use OPKs this cycle?
pomegranate / 3105 posts
@Mrs.Panda: LOL! Mouth breather, yes. My sleeping has been super wacky this month. Temp orally. No OPKs this month. I've never considered temping inside, is that done with a normal BBT thermometer?
NYE we are going to Niagara Falls, Ontario with two other friends to party it up. First time going out in YEARS.
nectarine / 2358 posts
@babycanuck: I'm pretty sure you just temp with the regular bbt! I have heard you get more steady temps that way what with the mouth breathing or talking in your sleep Also different parts of your mouth can have drastically different temps. I have included a pic I found concerning the differences. You just have to make sure to use the same method (mouth or vag) the entire month.
Those sound like fun plans!!
ETA: I'm often half asleep when I pop the thermometer in my mouth and find myself drifting a bit and have to shove the tip back into the heat pocket in my mouth, so I'm sure that doesn't help my temps. Plus working 3 overnights a week! I think I'm done temping this month because I am getting progesterone blood work on CD25 anyway! No reason to stress myself out!
pomegranate / 3105 posts
@Mrs.Panda: I guess I just have to wait and see. I don't have a good feeling but i"ll wait it out and continue the BD EOD.

Ack. It's not even January yet and I am already having problems with my January cycle... before I was pregnant, I always O'ed on CD17/18 and had *very* regular cycles. I also had great luck with OPKs and got in the habit of only testing once per day, with FMU. I would usually get 2 days of + OPKs, with O on the second day. Last month was my first postpartum cycle off of BCP and it was super wonky, but I did get two consecutive days of + OPKs and significant O pain.
This cycle has *seemed* normal - lots of EWCM and HSO cervix starting at CD14. My OPKs were fading in and my CD17 (yesterday) was very close to +. Yesterday I had some O pain and "fullness" - totally normal for me. I was fully expecting a + OPK today. BUT - Today's OPK (CD18) is much lighter than yesterday. Is it possible I missed my surge??? Or is my cycle completely messed up? (I am still BFing several times a day, but I got my cycle back at 7 weeks pp, so I don't think it's that). GAH. I *hate* uncertainty with TTC.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@babycanuck: I always temped internally because I sleep with my mouth open - it gave me much more consistent results. And, yes, same thermometer.

Okay, I'm joining in this month, although Hubs and I are just NTNP AND I've been sick so we haven't even DTD lately and supposedly I'm going to O today potentially, haha, so I have no hope, but wanted to join in anyway!

@littlek: I tested last night on a whim - very negative. CM is also changing this morning back to creamy. I will keep an eye on CM and keep testing for a couple more days, but my guess is that that was it. Which is fine by me - timing was actually pretty good.

Hi all,
I have to admit that I am a long time lurker and that this is my first post. I am on cycle #9 of TTC and this one is a bit of a bummer because I know that if I had been one of those pregnant on the first try ladies, I'd have a baby this month. Anyways, I'm joining the team, so here's my info:
Estimated O Date: January 11, 2014
POAS/AF date: January 28, 2014
Cycle #: 9
Chart link: N/A (but charting!)
Trying new this cycle: Nothing new - out of ideas!
What are your New Year’s resolutions? I'm going with the standards: try to get my house in order, lose a few pounds, etc!
Good luck everyone!

@Mrs.Panda: That diagram is interesting, I always stick my thermometer in that heat pocket area. I had no idea it might be more accurate elsewhere in my mouth. Hopefully the fact that I consistently do it there means it doesn't make a difference.

I am carrying over from the December POAS thread This is month 9 for ttc and cycle #2 with Clomid 50mg. Im crossing my fingers not my legs ;0)
Estimated O Date: It was Saturday December 28th
POAS/AF date: January 13th
Cycle #: 9
Chart link: Not up to charting just yet
Trying new this cycle: OPK
What are your New Year’s resolutions? I am ready for a new year, new beginnings and a new outlook on life. I want to take time this year to focus on me. I have my first appt with a LMFT today that im actually excited to go and see. I want to lose...quite a few pounds and maybe shed off the weight (physical and emotional) I have been carrying around for a while.
Good luck to all of you ladies!!! Lots of sticky baby dust wishes for you!!

I'll be cheering you along the way too!

Hi Ladies!
Estimated O Date: January 16th
POAS/AF date: January 2nd for Cycle 1. January 30th for Cycle 2.
Cycle #: 2
What are your New Year’s resolutions?
I want to meditate daily. Last year I wanted to get well for a baby. This year I want to get strong for a baby. Do you know of any fitness books that help you prepare for labor and birth?
As for me, I feel as if I'm struggling emotionally. Although I have symptoms, I can't seem to handle the thought that I could possibly be pregnant. The RE only gave us a 1% chance and it's really getting to me- way more than I expected. So this morning I called up my student assistance program (like an EAP at work) and got a referral to a local therapist in the area. I can see her FIVE times for free! I think that is wonderful!! I feel very blessed.
Someone also recommended this book for me: http://www.amazon.com/Wishes-Fulfilled-Mastering-Art-Manifesting/dp/1401937276
This whole process is forcing to me to look at all aspects of wellness at their very core.
Also, Weird TMI- yesterday I was out of town at a restaurant and experienced very small bleeding after going to the bathroom and I'm not sure where it came from. I have a skin condition called hidradenitis suppurativa that can cause bleeding, but couldn't find anything. Checked my cervix..nothing left there either. It was SO weird. Sometimes it feels like the universe and/or my body is taunting me.

i feel like by joining this board, it'll make my TTC plans "official"
AF was supposed to arrive around Dec 27th but she hasn't appeared (and i've gotten BFNs) so my dates are very approximate (i don't chart).
Estimated O Date: around Jan 10th
POAS/AF date: end of January
Cycle #: 3
Chart link: Not up to charting just yet
Trying new this cycle: not stress
What are your New Year’s resolutions? i'm not really good at keeping these
persimmon / 1259 posts
I'm joining this thread, because I probably will POAS a few times in January. However, I do not know for sure if I will ovulate in January or not. I was driving myself nuts with all of the tracking, temping, charting, that I'm giving myself a break from it all until my next cycle, when I start Clomid for the first time, and then I have to track for obvious reasons.
Estimated O Date: TBD
POAS/AF date: TBD
Cycle #: 6 (month 11)
Chart link: Gave it up this month
Trying new this cycle: Not stressing, and just being patient until next cycle when I start Clomid.
What are your New Year’s resolutions? I am going to give up alcohol and caffeine all together. Obviously, I"ll have to do this when I get KU anyway, but why not start now? Also, sticking to a meal plan that my husband and I have been planning for a couple of weeks now. It's a rotating four-week meal plan, and we're sticking to it. Helps with calorie control AND budgeting!
Good luck everyone!! Hope to see lots of

Looks like I'm joining you all in the new year as well ladies! Just got our negative today but we're still positive and ready to move forward in the new year!
Estimated O Date: Not sure yet
POAS/AF date: tbd
Cycle #: 3rd try with IUI on clomid
Trying new this cycle: We shall see what the doctor says. This last cycle we ended up with four large follies and one small one that possibly could have been viable so the doc may want to try a different dosage of clomid or something, I have no idea yet.
What are your New Year’s resolutions? Mine is simple this year. I just want to get through our upcoming international move in a stress-free and organized fashion. It's my goal for each of our international moves we've done thus far but I've never fully achieved it before but this year's the year!

Just realised I'm on 10dpo, AF is due tomorrow but none of the usual cramps... Literally nothing! Keeping my fingers crossed that this b6 is already lengthening my luteal phase

@septca: did you DTD the past few days? If so then you are probably covered and I would do t again tonight too even if you missed your surge the egg may still be hanging around. I still BF several times a day too and my cycles seem to be improving since I started a B complex with my prenanatal. I wasn't on BCP though and I know they can make you hyper fertile so maybe you are going to release more than 1 egg this month? Just a thought.

@Snowdrop: I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
@SweetiePie: thanks for sharing, and for the well wishes! Ill be sure to keep everyone posted. How exciting for the transfer!
@newatthis: lol at crossing fingers not legs
@Mrs. Chickadee: I'm fast approaching the 9 month mark and it is a little sad to think about. I think I will be especially devastated if we aren't pregnant by my original due date.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@MrsMccarthy: If I O'ed yesterday, we got O-3, O-1, and O. I plan to sweet talk DH into some bedtime BD tonight, too, so that'll add O+1. I think that timing would be good and will cover all our bases. I am driving myself nuts thinking it through today, but I am about 90% sure it happened. All the signs are there except the OPK, and given the bad luck I had with Wondfo HPTs last cycle, I am trusting my body over a stick. The biggest sign - although tons of EWCM and a HSO CP are pretty fail-proof - is the O pain and sharpness on my right side yesterday and today. FX.
