@hotchildinthecity: thanks!! Did you read anything else to prepare? I mean I know they had two required classes before the home study...

@Mrs. Jacks: I think they are kind of doing that. Their baby has been with them a month now and they were advised not let let too any friends/relatives visit the first two months since all the new ppl are confusing to the baby and they are supposed to work on the attachment between just the three of them. So only the grandparents on each side have been able to visit. I think it's great and amazing they heeded that advice because all their extended families live in the area and they would have literally had 100 visitors by now, which is totally normal in south Asian culture.

@Mrs. Jacks: yup, but you wouldn't know by looking at her--they all have the same coloring. But the little girl is a mix of middle eastern and they don't know about the dad. They got some information about the mom, but it's a totally closed adoption and they nothing about the dad. They've never talked to the mom, but the birth mom choose them from packets because she thought her daughter looked like them. Other than ethnic background and a tiny bit if medical history, all they know is that mom signed away her parental rights right after birth and the baby went to foster care.
