@Bao: Oh that's super cool! I don't have the secret Garden one, so I'll have to look for that one specifically.

Got Lost Oceans for Christmas and the pencil crayons came in today. Debating if I want to be a complete loser and indulge tonight

Did this one during a long drive yesterday. (I am that addicted LOL!) I realize part of doing this is letting go and just coloring but I can't help but think. I think I might end up preferring the more abstract designs so as not tired to colors you expect to see in nature/animals etc.
Also everyone's posting pictures with very vibrant colors - which I am drawn to - are most people using markers? (Or colored pencil blenders that I just read about? Or maybe more layers of pencil are needed to make mine more bright?)

@sera_87: awesome!! @Munchkin: I use both, I think you could use more layers if you wanted a bolder look!

@sera_87: I was coloring that same page last night - and I kid you not, did the same color scheme. lol!

@catgirl: What coloring book are those from? I just got into this craze and love those designs.

@JennyG: I know you didn't ask me but it's Secret Garden!

These pencils are amazing. They aren't even the 'expensive' prismacolours. Seriously. Like butter.

@sera_87: which ones are they? Love my premieres if you ever get your hands on those!

Almost done with my first page! I got bored when I got to the car, so I started something else.

@avivoca: I get bored with pages too! Try and force myself to finish but I figure it's all in fun, so if I don't I don't! Looks great! What book?

@sera_87: where did you order your new pencils from? I have a bit of Christmas money to fuel my obsession lol!

@Mrs. Oatmeal: Amazon! I find they have the best prices on the most variety.

I got my book a few weeks ago. It is pretty addicting.

I've had a few coloring books but haven't gotten into it too much yet... Finally actually did a whole page. I couldn't find my good markers or a pencil sharpener so this is just with crayola markers but it was relaxing! This might be my new evening activity

@Mrs. Train: wow so colorful! I love that book, I'm working on the skull right now.

These are so awesome. I think I'm going to request one of these for my birthday.

Guess what arrived yesterday!? I like markers for the vibrancy of the colors but I understand now why pencils are great for shading. We shall see. Here is what I started early this morning - admittedly limited light and limited coffee

@Bao I ended up asking for one (Lost Ocean, c/o @Mrs. Train and @sera_87) and some Crayola twist-up colored pencils since I am usually too lazy to sharpen colored pencils...Ha! I'm excited to open it and get coloring. When I told my toddler about it, she said, "I color it WITH you!" Fat chance, kid.

@bao I love the markers. Better than pencils I think. However the color choices are interesting. For ex I don't think there is a light purple or a true red. Are there other boxes with different shades from this co or are you also using the "bright" colors?
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@Munchkin: I use all of the ones in the 36 count, I do agree some look different but try them all out! @limabeanbabies: haha! You could copy a page and let LO color that one

For those of you that draw with markers - do you have a case that you recommend? The box they came in is just not working for me.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@Munchkin: I just put mine in a tote with all my other stuff, but I know there are some nice cases out there! Check Amazon!

Here is my first contribution! I like everyone else's pictures way better than mine haha. I like the look of pencil crayons better but I'm so bad with shading etc. I don't really find it very relaxing!

Also, haven't been following this thread, but has anyone gotten the "sweary" coloring book? I didn't feel like hiding it when my family came over or, or offending them, so I didn't get one. But I got one for each of my best friends! Looking forward to their reactions.
