    My mom gifted me an adult coloring book about peacocks for Christmas I appreciate the thought but it's not really my style. Anyone here love peacocks and be interested in a possible trade?

    @Mrs. Grizzly Bear: oh bummer...well luckily most are $10 or less! Maybe you could regift that one and buy another?

    I'm so pleased - my DH has bought himself a colouring book today! Its a Game of Thrones one. I've done a bit of colouring the last couple of evenings but feel terrible ignoring DH for too long....but... He is going to sit in the dining room with me tonight and do his own colouring! Yay!

    I haven't been following this thread until now but I got an adult coloring book in my stocking! I am pretty excited to start...whenever I get the time!! Ha! It's by Picadilly.

    I got the Outlander coloring book for Christmas! I'm so excited to start coloring but every store near me is out of colored pencils (boo!). I've got a couple more stores to hit tomorrow to see if I can find them, but I'm anxious to get started.

    @avivoca: check out Amazon, they usually have pretty good deals on pencils/pens from my experience price comparing. What brand are you looking for?

  9. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

    @Bao: Anything but Crayola. I have some that are watercolor pencils, but I just wanted to see what was out there in person. If I can't find them, I'll Prime them.

    @avivoca: Ah, gotcha! Do you have a Michaels near you?

  11. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

    @Bao: That's the store I'm going to today or tomorrow. It's on the way to daycare! If that fails, there are a few art specific stores near me that I will look at.

    @avivoca: I got a coloring book for Christmas and every store near me is sold out of every single brand of colored pencils except the $100 set at Michaels. It's insane!! I hope you have better luck!

    @yellowbird: I went to Hobby Lobby and all they had was the $129 set! I wish I had picked up a set when I bought pencils for my parents!

    @avivoca: geeze! I vote order on Amazon...I love my Prismacolors and they are very affordable since you can choose your quantity.

    Here is my first page! I def. learned some lessons. Want to focus on use of colors and contrasting ver the next few pages. I found the colored pencils to be hard for the smallest spaces. Thoughts about pencil v fine tip marker?

    Joining the club! I bought a coloring book a few weeks ago. It's so relaxing! So far, I just bought a cheap one from Five Below, but I'm really enjoying it.

    Here's my first page! I used my daughters crappy colored pencils since they are not in stock anywhere! Can't wait to get some better ones because I had a hard time staying in the lines since they were dull and I had no sharpener! Lol

    honeydew / 7303 posts

    @Cherrybee: so vibrant!
    @littleblessings: looks lovely! Are you using pencils?
    @Munchkin: I love pencils because you can shade. I have some fine tip markers and they work wonderfully in the small spaces but there's really no variant to the colors. It's just a different look.
    @Bao: pretty!

    Joining you guys!

    @Mrs. Pen: I got those two for Christmas!

    My husband bought me some prismacolour marked for Christmas but they're not fine enough, which sucks since they were super pricey. Oh and they bled through to the next page. He also got me some prismacolour pencil crayons, which I like but I have no concept of shading or anything so I need to work on that. He also bought me some Staedler fine tipped markers (I know, totally spoiled...) and I LOVE them!

    My picture so far isn't nearly as good as any of these though!

    I got Enchanted Forest for Christmas!!! However, I get carpal tunnel pain during pregnancy, and my right wrist and elbow pain have been flaring up since Tuesday when I colored in 9 beautiful trees. Boo!!!

    @Mrs. Pen: wow I love it! There is an artist addition of the garden book she has that you could pull out and frame. I think they have the Forest one coming out soon, too.
