(I haven't been keeping up with this thread lately, so this might have already been posted. If it has, sorry.)
I just wanted to share that Johanna Basford (secret garden) has 4 printable Christmas pictures that you can download if you make a donation to Mary's Meals: http://www.johannabasford.com/blog-article/403

Here's two pictures from the Xmas download my sister and I colored on Saturday night. (Just ignore my messy table and our bottles of wine- this was our attempt to take an "artistic" picture for instagram at midnight after the bottles of wine.)

@Bao: love it!
Jumping in here- haven't shared any of my pages yet, but I just got new markers for my birthday, and colouring goes so much faster with them! Here's the first marker one I finished!

@Mrs. Oatmeal: I love that! Share more when you're done. What markers do you have?

@Bao: okay so I was reading this thread awhile ago, but I was in the thick of nursing school and needed to keep my focus so I had to stop because I really wanted to color lol! So my mom bought my little sister these coloring books (the enchanted forest) and a pack of gel pens. My sister gave me a page and we spent Christmas coloring and I'm obsessed! I personally REALLY liked using the gel pens. I want to try the fineliner pens you mentioned and the prismacolor pencils.
I need to order a coloring book for myself now! But man are the pens/pencils expensive, $40 for each set of pens/pencils. I am surprised, however, at how affordable the coloring books are.

@Mrs. Pen: I know they are pricey, BUT I personally spend hours a week coloring so it works out to be pretty affordable in the end. I LOVE my Johanna Basford books, I have Enchanted Forest, Lost Ocean and just got Secret Garden. It's so addicting! You could always start with a smaller set of pens or pencils and then build from there. I actually just got gel pens as well. Happy coloring

My MIL bought me a colouring book and some gel pens for Christmas. I had never considered trying this before but I had a go last night and its actually really fun.
I will share my first picture once I have time to finish it!

@Bao: jumping in here ! What brand of gel
Pens? I almost bought the F .iskars brand online but then some reviews said that half of the box was dried up and that they leaked. It was only 1% of reviewers that gave it one star but I punked out of buying them

@Cherrybee: yes, please! :)@MrsLilybugg: I have the Gelly Roll ones, kind of $$$ but they are the best.

@MrsLilybugg: my sister has amazapens on Amazon, so it's what I purchased too. I really liked them!

I thought I wouldn't be into this, but we ordered one of the coloring books and some gel pens for my mom, and when the first pack of gel pens didn't arrive on time, we ordered a second. The first pack came after Christmas and I decided to print out some free pages. It's pretty fun and very relaxing!
