Sorry this is so long. I am so confused! This is our third 'cycle' TTC (I am gauging this on how many times I have had a positive OPK), and so far, it looks like ovulation is taking place CD 12 or 13 of every cycle. My concern is that I experience bleeding a few days after a positive OPK that lasts about a week, and again another cycle of bleeding within the next week. I can’t get a handle on understanding my cycles. I think they are happening too frequently.

For example: Day one of AF was December 30. Very heavy, lasted 8 days. Positive OPK January 11, CD 13. Four days later, on January 14, I have started bleeding again. I finally called my doctor’s office, and the nurse told me that it was my period, and that women get their periods within a week of an LH surge. She also had me take an HPT this morning, at 9 dpo. I thought we were supposed to wait two weeks past ovulation to test (TWW?), and that you are supposed to test when AF is late. AF seems too early to me. I am very confused. It was a BFN, by the way.

I did set up an appointment, but it’s not until Jan 30 and wanted insight before then. So far my guesses are that I have either a short luteal phase (explaining “AF” so frequently), or that the mid-cycle bleeding is ovulation bleeding, or that I have low progesterone levels. Thanks for listening.
