I really like the style of the convertible crib. I would have gone with something similar if we hadn't received a crib from our SIL.

I voted 1. Both are nice options though!

Does option 1 come with the conversion to the full size bed? My son's crib is similar to that but apparently, for our crib, there's no conversion to the full size bed. I'm supposed to buy some sort of wire frame to make it a full. I kind of feel like a I want to get a better frame as his long term bed. He's still in the toddler setting now.

@runsyellowlites: see, that's what I thought I would have the option to buy. I either didn't read it correctly or they've removed the option since then. Oh well, luckily my crib was super inexpensive.

I like the more modern one too! By the time your DD needs a grown up bed, you might want to buy a totally different bed altogether. Or she might want to choose her on bed.

I like the idea of the first one, but that's because I like traditional looking furniture.

Moderna crib. Since you already narrowed down your choices to two great looking cribs there's no need to throw another in the mix.

What if your DD doesn't like her bed or simply wants to buy something new with her future SO? Also like a PP mentioned what if she wants to a room makeover and pick out her own bed. I remember fondly at five picking out the quintessential pink and white 80s furniture, and then at 16 picking out new furniture when I upgraded to a queen.

@runsyellowlites: I kind of agree with pp's about letting P choose her own furniture when she's older. I didn't get to! But I never would have wanted to take my childhood bed with me into marriage! something about that is just weird to me... you never know how she might feel about that.

Oh and also - if she were to take her bed with her when she's older - isn't a convertible crib a full? not a queen?

I didn't want to count on a crib being a "forever"piece of furniture. They et scratched up from toys and teething.

I prefer the modern one but that's just my taste. Plus you never know whether the quality of #1 will last 18 years anyway, and like others said you/she might want a different bed anyway. Go with your gut on the style and worry about her big-girl bed later!
