I've been on a name-hunt lately, even though we don't know whether baby is a boy or girl 
I'm feeling stuck though--we keep circling back to the same two or three names. We're thinking Leo (still need a middle name) or Brandon Pierce if it's a boy (although DH thinks that's too WASPy). For girls, we're thinking Audrey, Avery, or Layla/Leila.
What names are on everyone else's lists? I need inspiration! Bonus points if you give me your opinion of the names above

I love Leo! And I think Layla is really pretty- there's a little girl in my class named "Laila."
Not pregnant yet, but we've gotten our names pretty set.
Girls:
Hadley Paige
And the other girl's name will have Katherine as a middle name for my sister- we can't decide on a first name
Boys:
Nathan Michael
Another boy's middle name will either be Brock or Dean. I would love to use them as a first name, but our last name is one syllable and I think it sounds kinda choppy together
There are so many names I CAN'T use because they remind me of students haha

LEO was definitely on my list for Wagon Jr.!!! I absolutely love the name Leo. My childhood best friend just named her new baby boy Brandon. She went to the hospital totally thinking she was gonna have a girl (but they were team green) so when a boy popped out they were nameless for several days!
I also LOVE Audrey and Layla/Leila. I love the name Lila but Wagon Sr. vetoed it. I've always loved Audrey!
@lilteacherbee: Dean was our #1 choice for Wagon Jr.!!! Wagon Sr. may some day be dean of a school, so it would be weird to have our son named Dean Wagon and Wagon Sr. be Dean Wagon...!

I LOVE Audrey...It's LO's middle name because hubs vetoed it for her first name (he likes it but felt strongly about a different one).
Nathan was #2 on my boy-name list.

@hilsy85: I'm a big proponent for just naming your kid the name you will refer to him as, even if it's technically a nickname. Kind of like how Charlie is not Charles! My parents named me my full name but they called me Tina from day one, and it has driven me crazy my whole life. I never know how to introduce myself to new people. I finally just started going by Tina in college, and when people would find out my real full name they'd actually be UPSET! I have no idea why. Anyway, I can NEVER get anything with monogramming or one of those initial pendants because I don't really know what to use as my first initial!
ANYWAY, rant aside, I would totally go with just Leo if you decided on that. I was thinking of Leonard or Leonardo or Leopold (the last being my favorite) but I didn't really like any of those... so I would have just gone with Leo if I went with that name.

@mrs. wagon: I know exactly how you feel! My parents started to call me a shortened version of my middle name from day 1. It drove me crazy having to explain it over and over again to everyone. When I changed my name after marriage, I dropped my first name, my middle name became my first name, and I thought of a new middle name.
As for names for your LO, I love Leo for a boy and Audrey for a girl!

@mrs. wagon: This is funny to me because my parents did name me a nickname, and I hated it growing up because everyone just assumed I was a Jessica and would call me that even though everything was just Jessie. I used to wish that I had a fullname so I didn't have to correct everyone!

Names we have right now:
Boy name is pretty much set in stone: Nolan Michael.
It was Easton until we had a few friends use it in the last couple months (Easton for both a boy and girl lately.)
Girl name right now is Emerson Rhea, but DH still isn't 100% sure, we just have found anything we both like better. I also love the names Everleigh and Elodie but DH vetoed both, maybe round 2 he won't feel so harsh about them.

@jessiejo17: haha!! what a flip side of the coin. I don't know why people assume Tina is a full name... I don't think I've ever heard "what's Tina short for?" like you have probably heard "is Jessie short for Jessica?" a million times!
Wagon Sr.'s name is Robert, and he goes by Rob sometimes, but I swear when most people first meet him they automatically call him Bob. I have no idea why!

These are totally just names I like and prefer; DH and I haven't talked much about it!
For boys: Neal, Leon, Stephen, John
For girls: Lena, Elanor, Rosie
It's a lot harder for me to find girl names I like than boy names. Boy names are straightforward, girl names are complicated!

@Minnie_Girl: That's funny, I feel completely the opposite! Boy names are way harder...maybe because I feel like a boy name has to be "stronger", whereas girl names have more leeway with being unique and quirky.

@hilsy85: Love Leo! so stinking cute. I like the name Pierce too. I did love the name Audrey, but lately it's all I hear. Within the last 6 months I know 3 or 4 babies named Audrey, and one named Aubrey. I love the name Layla/Leila best! (Avery is another super common one!)
@lilteacherbee: looove Hadley, and I've always loved the name Paige. It was on our middle name list too!
@mrs. wagon: @jessiejo17: hmmm that's very interesting. I loved a shortened name for LO, but my husband thought he needed a long name. So we chose to name him a long name, but 90% of the time we call him by his nickname, and we introduce him that way as well. I never thought it would be a big deal I guess??
@mrsjyw: I love all your names! I was ALMOST named Noelle, but my grandma had a fit cause I wasn't a December baby lol
@Alivoo01: Zoey was on our list too! In fact it was the name we had chosen before we were even TTC. Once I got pregnant though, I saw how popular it had become, so I didn't like it as much.

Note: our last name starts with a U so Owen would be OSU after Ohio State U where DH went. I don't know why I gave in to that except I love the name!

@Coco Bee: I'm not around kids very much now, so I have no idea what the trends are! I figured Audrey was getting more popular One issue we're having is that IF this baby is a boy (which we feel like it is) and we do Leo, then I feel like we can't do Leila if the next one is a girl. Leo and Leila--too matchy matchy! I also love Gemma and Emmett but DH vetoed them! He's so picky! =P

Not a mom to be, but for the next we're going to go with Jack Issac if it's a boy. We're not sure for a girl yet though.... I love Beatrice (we'd call her Bea), but DH doesn't like it. It's after his grandma!

@hilsy85: Hate when that happens- but you'll find something else perfect for your LO. I really loved Sadie and DH said no, but now I'm so glad he did because her name is meant for her. Honestly.... it's not my favorite name, but I don't have any favorite names for boys, and it's after DH's grandpa that meant so much to him so I would love to be able to name my son Jack someday!

@hilsy85: the whole reason DH said no to Elliott was because he likes it better for a girl name. We are going with Grayson, and like you said, we couldn't think of any nicknames, but i'm ok with that.

Am I the only one that used their computer's search tool to see if anyone mentioned their favorite name? ...Yes? Okay.
I try to not talk about my favorite girl name in order to not jinx it. It's getting more popular, especially with celebrities, and I'm afraid it will be super popular by the time we have a LO.

@hilsy85: I loooove the name Jack. It's my husband's name so maybe I'm biased. I wanted to name a boy Jack Jr., but I'm not sure my husband is on board. I also love Lily Rose for a girl. That's been my girl name for ages, but it's gotten so popular I'm not sure anymore. I was upset when the little girl on Modern Family was named Lily. hmpf I didn't want it to get even more popular.

@hilsy85: And I realize that's kind of mean of me to say in a thread about giving you name ideas... Sorry! From the sound of your current list, though, I don't think it would be a top choice for you. By the way, I love the name Layla. We can't use it because it sound terrible with our last name.
