So here I sit with my week old baby and I want to be pregnant again. Like now! I want all my kids super close in age and I'm not sure how long #2 will take but I freakin want to get pregnant now. I know I sound crazy. Someone break my baby fever please! It doesn't help that my pregnancy was easy and my birth was wonderful. Ugh someone slap me!

I remember feeling the same way even after a rough birth experience! I think my new baby high wore off a bit and my baby fever returned around 4 months. My LOs are almost 16 months apart.

I was like that and ku again by DS was 10 months. Kids are 17 months apart and it has been so great. Want a third but not happening and dd is only 3 weeks. I understand!

I felt the same way after my birth #2. The high you get after a natural childbirth makes you want to do it 100 times!!!

I felt like that too! I actually felt that way until about the six month point. Then it wore off because we were able to travel, etc., and I enjoyed the freedom of one LO.

Colic pretty much did in my baby fever for another one right away. Around 6 weeks or so with it, the baby high wore off and became "OMG please stop crying, please soothe." Once colic went away, sleep was the biggest deterrent to another one when you can barely stay awake at work and still have to pump 3 times a day. I had bouts of baby fever around 6 months old with sleep training. Now at 18 months old, I still get baby fever and miss my bump.

Ok this is just my OPINION (caps look angry but I'm not!) so have as many as you want when you want, but after the first week I thought we could do it again soon too. Then at 6 weeks came the depression/anxiety diagnosis, and around 5 weeks my "easy" newborn (well easy aside from bf not working out) became fuuuussssssyyy, til she was four or so months old. (Then she was easy again!) I sure am glad I didn't have another back then. But there would have been some pluses too, don't get me wrong. The other thing for me is I'm glad my daughter has had the first year and a half of being the baby. Of course there are benefits to not being an only child that long but we have had some amazing days just the three of us.
But I do know the feeling and I think you could handle it of course and I'd be super excited for you if you had another in the near future! I love your IG posts and your LO is adorable, so if you're up for it then go for it!

I felt that way initially right after my first arrived, then he started to be a handful and I felt more ready again at 10 months. My second is about to arrive and my husband isn't touching me without protection for a VERY long time. This second pregnancy was much rougher than the first. Just my experience though.

I felt that way too! lo is 18 months now and we're ttc, I just wish we had tried for number 2 a lot sooner!

@MrsStar: earlier!?! Really, I'm still not sure I'm ready for another pregnancy with LO being 18 months old. I do want to get the newborn to 6 months old phase over with it. Just not sure of when I want to start a pregnancy.

@cascademom: Haha I sound crazy don't I! We've been trying for 7 months already. Lo was a super easy baby though (didn't vomit, she never criedwas on a 4 hour schedule as soon as she was born etc). I had horrible morning sickness though so I want to get pregnant asap so she doesn't "know" that I'm sick all day every day if I get MS again. Plus I want a close sibling bond! Yup I do sound crazy!

Aww you are cute! I was so tired my baby fever took a couple months but I think that's wonderful and you should go for it.

Heh. I've heard lots of stories about nurses busting into hospital rooms pretty often to "interrupt" new parents.

Not crazy - my in laws have Irish twins (one year and one day apart) and at 3 months pp I think they started trying for #3.
I loved being pregnant and even though I had a cs, I want it again now too. But then reality sinks in.

At 14 months PP, I'm starting to consider it but I dot want to be pregnant anytime soon. I would rather someone drop off a newborn this time next year. So, we're gonna be waiting!

Sounds craAaaaaAAAAzzzy to me but J was colicky and even at almost 2 I am sitting here on HB bc he's not sleeping well, so that pretty much curbs any baby fever for me

I felt that way right after baby #1. Then had such a hard time I felt closer to "one and done" until she was a year old!

I had a crappy last month of pregnancy with bedrest & pre-e but as soon as J was born I wanted a million babies.
I still do!
Probably wouldn't have been possible as AF didn't return until he was almost a year old. -
You sound crazy to me....but I'm 11 months out and have no interest in another baby yet!
It's totally for you and your family to decide.
I will say, the first few weeks were cake compared to how things got later, particularly in terms of sleep. Also, now that she is older and her personality is showing through, and we can do so many activities together I'm so happy I get to have all of this time alone with her. I get all weepy when I even think about being pregnant and not having the energy to play with her, or being distracted, or loving another baby.....I guess I probably sound a little crazy and obsessed with my kid.But yeah....babies are pretty cute.

I remember having feelings like that right away, but they quickly faded and now you sound crazy to me!! C is 7 months and is so much fun now but we are not ready for another yet! Pregnancy and birth were pretty easy for me, the first few months, not so much (c was colicky and fussy and not a sleeper).

@anonysquire: talk to your OB. Mine told me to wait 18 months before TTC again. Personally, I would want the time alone with my LO before adding another to the mix. Congrats on your new baby!!

Sounds crazy to me! But I don't like being pregnant and have been this way for too long (18 months total now...) so I'm ready to never be ku again lol.
Maybe I'll feel differently later but right now I cannot imagine lol.

I felt the same way and I had a TERRIBLE pregnancy and a c-section, and the morning of her birth (she was born at midnight) I was like - ohmygod let's have another! I still feel like that 8 months out, and we will be trying again as soon as I get my period back!
