I don't really like CFA, I don't think it tastes good and it's $! What an I missing?!

i think it's good, everything is fresh and they have a playplace which buys me time when eating dinner because my 4 year old is obsessed with it!
i do agree though that it feels "expensive" for fast food, but i tend to do that at every fast food place because i try to find the least bad for me option! i like that they have plain nuggets because my kids hate fried (so weird, but good i guess!). the only other thing that has no become a running joke is that they always mess up SOMETHING on our order, whether in store or the drive thru. they've forgotten food, drinks, ordered something totally different, etc... but they are always SO freaking nice about fixing it and go above and beyond. so we keep going back! but i like their sauces and fried and sweet tea too. and this is from a so cal girl!

I love it, it's pretty much the only fast food I'll eat. But to each their own!

I like it. It's the only fast food I eat (seems a little healthier than others).
I like that they try to cater to families by having healthier options for kids, play area, and the sticky mats for the tables.
nectarine / 2765 posts
I it! I also worked there in high school so I can also attest to their cleanliness which is a huge bonus to me.
pomegranate / 3904 posts
@Caly: the service there is soooo much better than other fast food places!

@winter_wonder: lol got it! Yes, I think it's good but I rarely go. If I were to eat fast food it would be CLA. I also think it's kind of expensive. We don't have any children yet so maybe we would go more if we did... probably not though.
cherry / 128 posts
@LAZB: Yes, agree to this! Especially if you eat inside. I never ate at a fast food place that employees walked around and offered to refill your cup.
nectarine / 2765 posts
@LAZB: exactly! Everyone is so friendly and courteous and I feel like they go out of their way to help...refills, carrying food to table, mints, take trash, etc. You don't see that at other fast foods!

Love it!
They have so many family activities - Monday is family night with a craft and Thursday is Family night with either a magician or balloon animals and face painting. Very clean!
The staff is amazing and will refill your drinks for you. They even offer to empty your tray.
The food is yummy - its actually the only fast food my kids will eat - their chicken nuggets are REAL chicken.
Oh and they have Diet Dr Pepper so that gives them bonus stars!

I don't think they exist in NY, so I've never been to or tried their food. That being said, I'm not a big fast food gal.

@YogiBeachWife: haha I was thinking the same thing
@winter_wonder: I used to live on the east coast where we didnt have that many but now that I live in the south we have a lot of them around. I love it the food is definitely not comparable to wendys, mcdonalds or BK, its much fresher and tastes a ton better

We have one, but it's not very close, so eating it is more of a treat. I like that it feels fresh, so I really enjoy their chicken. I also love their lemonade and all the sauces.

I grew up and worked at one through high school so when we moved to Seattle and there was none around, I craved it. When I traveled home, we would definitely make sure to stop.
Customer service is much better and having worked at one, I know how much they strive to be better than other fast food. They also don't really like to be consider fast food but more 'quick serve'. I understand why it's labeled to others as being fast food... but actually the chicken is pressure cooked in oil so slightly better than traditional frying).

I love it. Since moving to the burbs, we have one in our suburb. The staff is friendly, the play place is fun, the kids like the food. My eldest doesn't like the toys, one downside for us. I've always liked their food. I think it lives up to the hype.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@cascademom: Pro tip - you can swap the toy for a free icedream!!
We love CFA if we are stopping for fast food, mainly for the reasons listed above along with the polynesian sauce and the icedreams. I also have never been in one that wasn't clean, courteous, and quick, which is nice when stopping at a random exit for food.
watermelon / 14467 posts
I love it and have since I was a child and you could only find them in shopping malls. But we stop there once a week as a treat when my husband is traveling. I love that the food is healthier, the service is better, and they are really great about service for children. I'll go out of my way to eat at CFA rather than stop at McD's usually.
persimmon / 1095 posts
Honestly, I prefer fried nuggets at any of the other fast food places. They are also cheaper at the other fast food places. As I rarely get fast food, I don't care that it's fried.
coconut / 8861 posts
@LBee: I have to remember that next time. My eldest prefers McD's toys. I loved it when both chains did mini children's books. For a quick family dinner, CFA is great since it's so clean and the staff is nice. It's an easy kid friendly go to in a pinch.

I don't eat chicken but when I did I thought it tasked just like Wendy's.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
I love almost all fast food for lunch and dinner. But chick fil a is the only place I like for fast food breakfast. If you haven't had the chicken minis you should try them asap!
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
I love chick fil a salad. Especially the spicy southwest with the chili lime vinaigrette. The produce is always fresh and it's a healthier and tasty option if we're going out with kids For something quick.

I've never eaten at one, partly because I don't live near any and partly because I have strong political disagreements with the owners. But we don't really eat fast food anyway.
grapefruit / 4455 posts
I like it! I even like their salad (can't be said for the other fast foods) and I like the sauces. And the customer service is awesome. I went on Valentine's Day and they were giving out roses at the drive through.
pomelo / 5129 posts
They're one of the few fast food places that has a dedicated fryer for their fries (usually) and I love them for it. I have celiac so I can't have fries if they're fried in the same oil as breaded products. And I love their fries anyway
coconut / 8279 posts
We're vegetarian, so never tried it but we also try to avoid factory farming and don't eat fast food really.
persimmon / 1364 posts
They are not very popular around here (Los Angeles). I don't eat there because I don't eat chicken and because of their political position.
grapefruit / 4455 posts
@Mamaof2: I forgot about the diet Dr Pepper. Their drink selection is good. Milk or fruit punch for dd, most places around here mostly have soda.
persimmon / 1458 posts
We love it and probably eat it way too often. Their cookies and cream milkshake is to die for!!!! And I agree with others their customer service is great.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
@winter_wonder: I used to feel the same way when I tried it in college, but now I love it. The entire menu isn't great, but what they stake their reputation on is on point. I can't say the same for Mc D's or BK's signature sandwiches.
pomegranate / 3983 posts
@Alba4: I know of at least one location in midtown...not that I would go there, but it does exist.
We went for the first and only time on a road trip last year. I didn't think it was bad but then I grabbed the pamphlet with the ingredients and pretty much regretted the meal.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
They recently opened one by me! Prior to this, I've had it in Florida a few times. I like it but I've yet to go to the one that opened by me so I guess I'm not that hyped up about it either.
I like that they have waffle fries and their Polynesian sauce is good.
persimmon / 1467 posts
It is more expensive than other fast food sorts of places. But I took my kid to BK the other day and got $2 nuggets and they were terrible. It made me realize how good CFA's are in comparison. Their play place is always SOOO much cleaner than other restaurants. Whenever we go to McD's instead I regret it because my thumb sucker is touching everything and it is all filthy and worn out looking.
pear / 1586 posts
I'm a big fan of CFA for the original chicken sandwiches, chicken minis at breakfast, healthy-ish kids menu options (grilled nuggets, fruit), diet dr. pepper/diet lemonade drink options (also right now they have watermelon mint lemonade which is insanely delicious, icedreams!!! and clean/kid-friendly restaurants.
nectarine / 2813 posts
I like going because of how great the service is and they do have healthier options than other fast food places.
I haven't been in a long time but this thread is making me want it!
